buying a demo model?
So I'm looking at getting an '06 Accord, a new one, a few still on the lot. Anyway, they have an '06 Accord V6-L with the 6 speed manual and navi, but it was a demo unit, it has about 6k on it and they marked it down from the orgina $29k to $23k. What do you guys think of this deal?

i would too. my civic was the demo model way back .. i saw the car fax on it
the dealership got in it march 01 with 2 miles then in may 01 it was sold with 2500 miles.. go figure..
plus side to it being the demo model is its been cleaned out alot more than the others , sat inside for people to look at , anything wrong with it has been taken care of and other stuff...
if you buy it try to make them give you the extended warranty for cheaper or add the extra 6k mileage to the current factory warranty..

demos arent bad, my dad is a car dealer and he gets demos. the only real thing with a demo is that the dealer takes it home and uses it as his car. also if someone wants to test drive that exact car they give them the demo. but it gets checked all the time to make sure things are right with it and nothing is messed up. so you should be fine.

you do realize, that when a dealership gets a demo, generally all the salespeople will take it out for a joyride. i had advice from a salesperson that came and talked to my automotive class to never ever buy a demo: they discount it for a good reason. you can check it all you want, but nothing can show you the internal wear.

Well, I went for a cheaper car.
They had 3 '06 coupe left on the lot, all of them Accords loaded with V6 and auto tranny (wanted the manual, but hey). The cars are 27800 new and discounted down to 23k, and these cars are new, the one I picked up only has 28 miles. Suppose to get it on Thrusday, when my money comes in.
