Considering 99 Integra

There is a 99 silver Integra (not gsr) that has 29000 miles, 5spd, pretty much everything my car has, including moonroof for 15500. I am considering this as a direct replacement for my 2k1 just for reasons for modifying it. Anyone have any valuable info about those cars. As far as quality, I would assume it would be the same as Honda considering its made by them already. Any feedback is greatly appreciated. Lowboy

If it's not a GSR or Type-R, its not going to have the real power adders available on the aftermarket(i.e. turbo). Probably the best you could do is the JRSC. But if it's what you want, go for it.

I agree... that's kinda overpriced for it's year. I'd go for a GS-R. You realize how much you could do to a GS-R over the base model Integ?

actually Turbo is not reccomended for the Type R...cuz of high compression...strictly an N/A motor

Yeah a guy I know tried to install a turbo on his Type-R, And it didn't end up too well.
It wasn't because of the compression, but you get the idea of what can happen if you don't plan properly b4 installing.
This R is toast Go to "the legend continues" then "death of the R"
Amazingly enough, right now he's in the process of rebuilding it.

No,no,no. No turbo or Nitrous. Just some simple bolt on stuff, like intake exaust, header and maybe some cam gears or simple stuff. So, you think, the pirce should be cheaper considering its not a GS-R. Im only considering this due to the fact that it will lower my payments a little and take my insurance down some. (hopefully). Thanks.

JMHO.....I think youd be better off keeping the 7th gen then going with the Teg... an LS/GS (whatever isnt a GSR/Type R) wouldnt give you that much of a boost over the 2k1...even with mods, and personally I think the 7th gen looks better than a Teg- If I was given the choice between my 2k1 and a Teg, Id keep my 2k1....the Teg would have to be GSR or Type R...then you're talkin power! DOHC, baby! If the baseline model is what you want, then I'd say go for it - but if you want to mod it for performance, or just want a LOUD *** engine, go GS-R. If you want the best FWD car ever made, but are able to sacrafice a moonroof and cruise control... go Type R. I have full respect for both cars and I'm investing in a Type R as we speak and I really want a car I will be happy with in terms of power. If you happen to want to read a good comparison of the two: READ THIS.

Oh yeah, if you want a silver Integ, scratch out the Type R.

I just read you're trying to save on insurance! Wellllllllll... baseline it is, I guess! (Sorry... for some of us, it's all about power.)

I like the TEg...I wouldnt get it since it isnt a GSR though. I think the price is a little too high also. The Integra Ls new was only around $18,000 and the dealer wants $15,500 for a 99 with 29k miles. That is too much. I would either look around for something else or keep your car.

Good luck on finding an old LS VTEC! Those are just as nice, too. Build up the engine and set yourself (and your car) free.
