Corvette C6 Z06 vs Eagle Talon
Nice video...considering the Z06 is stock and that Talon is highly modified...thats insane. They're crazy if they think they put that Z06 to shame because they didn't. Cause a factory car kept up with an 11 sec Talon.....
I don't care for Talons/Eclipses only because they break down every other weekend.

2 car lengths most....that I don't consider being left behind when its a stock car vs. something with that much money in it. Modify the Z06 a little then see who will win.
Yea the 4g63 is a nice engine but in those eclipses and talons they break down way too much...more than any car I've ever seen.

So THAT'S why at the end of the video it says that it's still got the original engine with over 140,000 miles on it?
I use to have a 97 gsx with the 4g63t, and i agree that dsm's are a bit of a bitch to maintain. The engines are rock solid and can take all kinds of abuse, thats not the problem area.
You'll have to remember though, most of them are over 10 years old and are puttin down quite a bit of power, so of couse things will go wrong.

DSM's can be a pain in the ***- but honestly, it takes so little cash to get to 12's or even 11's that you'd be suprised.
For what it would cost to get that Z06 into 11's, you could have a whole talon w/ a round of mods.
Cheap, reliable, or fast- pick two... a talon most certainly is cheap and fast so...

I keep hearing put some money/ mods to the vette.....it costs waaaaaaayyy more than a dsm even with all the mods. This is why we mod cheaper cars. It makes more sense to mod up a cheap car than an expensive one. At least to me it does. It like when a guy gets smoked by a civic and he says blah its still a civic....ya you just got beat by him and it costs less.
The Z06 runs something like high 11's low 12's.
A friend of mine runs a 'Vette performance shop here in Michigan (Tracy Performance in Roseville) and putting ANY kind of mods on that thing is a pita- the ECU fights against everything that is out of the usual. it flashes the CEL every time you bolt something new on.
Plus, without getting into internals and head work, there are not a whole lot of mods that will make a huge difference on the Z06- the thing is already engineered to perfection.

Stock Z06 runs 11.8 in the quarter. My friend did work to his laser and got it to 13.99 at 17psi on race gas so yea.... I'd take the Z06 any day.
If you don't know what a laser is its a 1st gen talon basically, still has the 4g63 in it.
