I believe they have beefed up the tranny quite a bit for 2006, my brother just got a WRX and thats what they were telling him. Its kind of tough to make it handle such retarded things, but it should be strong to make up for the power and AWD. With the kinds of things people do to them mostly sounds like its the owners fault. My brother said someone on the forums was upset by subaru's quality when he tried launch the car in reverse and broke the gear.
