Need Help ASAP!

Hi all,

Back in December my car was making creaking noises whenever I turned. The dealership determined it was due to bad welds and had their bodyshop fix the problem. All this was covered under warranty.

A few weeks ago, the car would make a popping/crunching noise whenever I went over a speedbump. So I took it to the dealership today. They determined that the noise is from the work the bodyshop did last time...basically the problem is still not fixed. The dealership told me that I have to go to the bodyshop myself and get it repaired. The service guy said it will be covered under their warranty. Since it was closing time, I took the car home. I am going to go back tomorrow morning to complain that I should not be responsible for dealing with the bodyshop. Does anyone have any advice for me??? I feel like the dealership does not want to deal with the issue themselves...but shouldnt they? I am still under warranty.

Thank you.

the dealer can't do body work however. all they can do is cover the work someone else does.

If it was their bodyshop they should deal with it themselves. Or you could get the name of whoever told you to go there and tell the shop who sent you. If work was done back in December they should still have your information.

Okay, I just looked at the service recipt from today and for the solution of my problem they wrote: "customer demonstrated problem, car has been in accident, body shop recommended."

I never been in an accident, I think when the tech saw the reinforced welds he assumed it was an accident??? Either he did not look at my previous warranty issue or the dealership never recored that issue.

So tomorrow morning I am going to the service rep and ask him about the accident comment and have them remove it from my maintence record...I am so pissed they just wrote that. I will also ask him to check if the previous warranty issue is under record. I will be NICE first and see where that gets me... Depending on how he treats me and if they have a record of the previous warranty issue, I will decide to make them deal with the bodyshop or just go myself and confirm that they will cover any needed work.

I am pretty upset with my experience with this dealership. Any more advice for tomorrow would be appreciated...

Hi all,

Before I went to the dealership this morning, I called the America Honda and the bodyshop first. I told America Honda my situation and they said if the dealership does not have a bodyshop it is fine if I bring the car there myself since the bodyshop work is warranted through the bodyshop.

So I called the bodyshop and asked them if they have a record of my work and told them that the dealership told me to contact them directly. The manager of the shop told me it is better if I just bring the car myself since otherwise the dealership would have to be the middle person. So he told me to bring the car in Monday morning and the 2 techs that did the work will look over it and see if the problem is from the original work.

Finally, I drive to the dealership and talk to the service rep and I ask him why the "has been in accident" comment is on my service record. He says oh, it must be a mistake since they probably did not check the service history. So he removes the comment and replaces it with "Concern Verified. Rec Body Shop; See records at Auto Body Masters, already repaired." Also I got him to print me the previous service history showing that the warranty work was subleted to the bodyshop and that the left front fender was removed and the firewall area was re-welded to factory specs.

So now I just have to go to the bodyshop on Monday and hopefully it is a simple fix. This is getting annoying...Anything else I should do? Like file another complaint (I filed one about the bad welds last time to America Honda) to America Honda and/or to the Dealership?

Thank you. Keep you posted.

Man, I think you have problem with suspention and not the "body".
Clicking and poping noises usualy caused by a suspention.

I realy cant imagine anything within a bodyshell making this types of noises.

Hi, when I push against the left wheel fenderwell panel, the panels moves and the crunching/popping noise occurs. That is why the dealership thinks its the body making the noise. The tech said he checked the suspension and it is fine. Well I am going to the bodyshop tomorrow morning so I will update once I find the problem.

Hi all, so after bringing it to the bodyshop they thought it was something else than the fenderwell. As a result, I had to bring the car back to the dealer so that they can go through the whole warranty process and have the dealer bring the car back to the bodyshop (procedures). So I called the dealer today and they told me that the bodyshop said they could not find anything wrong, the bodyshop did remove the strut assembly and put it back again. After removing and replacing the strut assembly back, the bodyshop said the nosie is gone. So I picked up the car and drove it home. At first the noise seem to be fixed but after arriving home and going over the usual speed bumps, the noise is still there...the noise is less than before, but still obvious. So I called the service guy at the dealer back and he told me they will replace the strut assembly cause they think it is what is causing the noise...what a pain....this sucks, I had the car in the shop for a week and probably have to have it in the shop again for another week

I have the same clicking noise in my back end. I am 100% sure that its the shocks that have to be replaced.

Well I demonstrated the crunching noise again to the bodyshop's tech and he was surprised because he thought he had fixed it. When he first drove my car over a speedbump the noise did not come...basically he just had his foot on the gas and went over the speedbump. So I told him to press the break and not press the gas before going over the speedbump...viola!, the noise appears. So he has to try to find the problem again. The tech at the dealership said he double-checked the schocks and they appear fine...well I will update, hopefully this matter will be resolved...the crunching noise is really annoying.

Okay I picked up the car today and it appears that they fixed the noise. It turned out to be a faulty brushing on one of the arms...they also replaced the left front spring. So when I got my car I made a quick inspection and found the following:

1.) Got scratches on the hood and both doors. Scratches are not deep but there appears to be a few which I know was not there before.

2.) I got wheel locks. The wheel lock key is missing now. I told the service rep and he said they did not use it, so I think the bodyshop used it and forgot to put it back (I know it was in my glove compartment because I checked before giving the car to them, since I thought they might need it).

So I have to head down to the dealer again...this is so frustrating. I am not even sure if they going to help me.
