Actually, Lambourhini knocked on Enzo Ferarri's door and asked if he could make a few suggestions about the cars Enzo was making. Enzo laughed in the guy's face and said he knew nothing about sports cars and shut the door. So Lambourghini, who owned a company making these:

Rep Power: 251 ^^^^^^ Yea I think that is how it went, and after his success Lamborghini asked Enzo to make him a Ferrari (for personal use) and Enzo turned him down.
BTW: Lamborghini is bringing Miura back. The new one looks awsome, but there only making a few of them.
