Man I trust everything I see on Geocities sites. Plus I would still laugh at you if you did it.

Most of his "science" sounds pretty sound. It really goes along with what everyones saying anyways, just illustrating it a little better. The only real contreversy in any of this is "the backpressure myth."

All I did was do a search for "exhaust backpressure theory" and this was one of the results. There are others. Try it for yourself. I read that site on geocities as, the headers and cat produce all the necessary backpressure and all the muffler does is reduce noise. So, you should be able to run with no muffler without a drop in power. And running duals would be ok because it just affects the sound and not the performance of the engine.

As long as you split the exhuast after the catalytic converter, it won't hurt your performance. This has been discussed before, and you would be retaining enough backpressure to keep your power.

This could be discussed till the cows come home, but personally, the only way I see it actualy gaining power is if you have some kind of power adder. I think our civics look better with only one exaust tip only. One big fat one, not a coffee can exaust , but a good 3-4 inch tip.

I read another article that said that less backpressure means less low end power and more high end power. Personally this is what I want anyway! I love to play around the redline. I was looking at Thermal Research & Design exhausts and they sell one for low end power and one for mid to high end power. I want more power in the VTEC range(4200-6800). And I dont think there would be any less backpressure with two free flowing mufflers than with one. Just look at them! You can see straight through! and they are larger diameter than the stock pipe! Do you really think they make ANY backpressure!! Come on folks! Lets just give it a try or just do what makes you happy! Its your car. Make it unique.
