Anyways, turtle, I have heard of people having a SRI that converts into a CAI and vice versa but I don't know in AEM makes it. Look over in the parts section to look for one (I would but for some reason I can't have more than one window open). I have also seen them on ebay. I too am looking for a CAI!

I got ur answer right here bro. Get the ram air and buy a cold air extension that just hookes on to ur original filter. Doesnt take away from the sound and when it rains it simply slides off. Thats what i have. BUt i bought a second filter to put at the end of the extension. I did this just bc i had an extra one and it sounds louder. But the extension isnt metal its like a rubber.

Look G! The AEM is worth every cent. Get the cold air intake, but make sure it has two parts to it. And when it rains take of the bottom part and put the filter on the upper piece and your all good. The sound is the same but the performance is not. But your not going to need the performance if it's going to rain .

attack of the killer n00bs. haha this is almost a pure n00b thread. but yes, the AEM converts to SRI, and back. as for the DAC, i don't think we can get those for our cars, i've never heard it before, I assume your talking about the DC sports version, and 2 filters? hmmm, i'm confused. anyhow, yes the AEM can be made into short ram, and yes it make's a noticeable difference over SRI. now don't post any other questions about Intakes without doing a thorough search.

the1sthotboy with that HUGE wing and all those screens your car has to be way faster

Actually my AEM CAI seemed to make a huge difference but it might be mental. I never had any problems without the bypass and it came up a huge rain with standing water the day after the install. I was nervous but it worked out so the bypass went on Ebay...,.,.

it take ALOT of cabbage to make the D-17 run! Not really worth it,when you can drop something else in.Like maybe the K20,but it turns in the opposite direction(any problems there?!).Anyway if I had it to do over I'd buy something else or waited for the new SI

The intake is definately worth every penny. It makes a noticeable difference in my opinion. Better throttle response and you can feel it pulling harder and faster. Now, it's not going to lift the front wheels off the ground but it does give ya a little boost.
