1/4 times--cont'd

I still don't believe he ran a 15.8 in a 01 ex. I don't want to disrespect anybody and I'm trying to show love for my car constantly, but in a mag (super street, i think) on the dyno our car had 110 hp and 103 ft.lbs. of torque. My friend ran his stock integra type r and his best was a 15.5 . Another thing that doesn't match up: nitehawk posted the slip and with such a good R/T- .656 - this guy still had a 60' time of 2.519??? My best so far was a 17.09 with a 60' time of 2.451---this guy had a worse 60' time than me and still ended up with a 15.8???? I don't know what everybody else thinks but i smell nos.
-->I'm not trying to be arrogant and I'm not trying to disrespect nitehawk or the guy who says he got a 15.8--I would like to have opinions on this matter, thanks everybody

no disrespect taken. buy why wouldn't he just say he had NOS. it just doesn't make sense why he would want to BS everyone. Our car's are supposed to be able to run low 16s no problem... well I'll link you to the original thread, so you can get hwoody's story.

If you ran a 17.09 and your 60' time was less than his, there is no way he ran a 15.8 if he is stock and has the same exact car as you. (2k1 EX?? or what?) As for reaction time, that is NOT added onto your E.T. Reaction is simply to show how fast you react. Someone can run a faster 1/4 mile time than you, but if you react faster then you can cross the finish line first. EXAMPLE : I ran a 13.775 against a comaro LS1 who ran a 13.446. But I won the race because I crossed the line first. My ET was .497 and his was 1.01!!!! (react slow much??)

There is no way an EX can run a 15.8 stock. Not possible.

You sure that's not the Canadian Si. I have a Civic Si too!. But it's only called that in canada. I thought he said "Our cars are not slow" which refers to 2k1's and up doesn't it. I dunno, look at his pics in members rides. That's not a 99/00Si/SiR.

I don't know who it was but somebody, either Hwoody or nitehawk or some other person, said Hwoody had a 01 ex so that's why I had beef. again, thanks for the thread nitehawk--I'm definitely not that bad a driver in terms of other people getting 15.8's and me getting 17.09's in my 01 ex, but I know it will be a year or two before I can be really good

alright, but I forgot to mention, Canadian Si's are identical the US EX's except we get mags, and Heater mirrors. so It really isn't over yet. We need to hear something from hwoody i think.

In Hwood's member profile, the side pic of his car has a little decal in front of the rear wheel-- something VTEC--is that just something he stuck on there or did that come factory? If 2002 ex (canada si) is still the same D17 I have under my hood, Hwoody either has NOS or is about join the NIRA circuit

hey nitehawk, have u run in ur car? if so, what times and mods (if any under the hood)? maybe Hwoody left out the small fact that he did a little cutting and welding in the engine bay to accomodate his little friend, Mr. B18

Actually I drive in EX...if you don't believe me I have it on camera...AND I can film my engine bay and anything else you want. I have my 15.8 on camera...I can show you, if you tell me how I can put it on my computer. It's not on memory..it's on an actual analog tape. I have NOTHING done to my car.

Hwoody, your driving me crazy bro. It's still a D17A2 motor like mine, stock, on the dyno it will be 110 hp, 103 ft. lbs. of torque (super street, 01 ex dr-so ours would be very close to those numbers) and you ran the same time that civic si's do and they have dohc goodness. I saw your timeslip, I'm still really hesitant to believe this. not to disrespect you or our car, but do u have nos and u just forgot to tell us? if no nos, plz tell me what was going on cuz i think i read in ur original thread that u ended up in fourth and that also is hard to believe--my friend's integra type r ends in fourth---

I don't remember if it was THAT exact run I shifted to fourth at, BUT I believe it was...which could have been the jump from a 16.0 to a 15.8.
On ALL my runs I redlined third close to the end, I even hit the fuel cutoff one on run...

I have NO NOS...NO NOTHING!

I have it on camera...

"This is a pointless thread, just a whining session""This is a pointless thread, just a whining session"

not neccisarily. there isn't any flaming goin on, which is excellent. Also, it would be nice to establish what our cars can do. knowing for sure. You got a frame grabber Hwoody, or know anyone who does?

EDIT: I haven't actually run my car at the track, so i dont' have much more input. I'm just curious at this point.

for those that run, this is not a pointless thread--the power potential of our car proven at the track is a little bit important

if u don't like it, move on bro

i don't see how you can make our cars chirp shifting to third??? chirping going into second is no problem...but third, i never thought our cars had that much power to the wheels.

hmmm i'm reading it now. and i see 16.2 for the quarter, 7.9 for 0-60. but oddly enough, in the sedan the 0-60 is at 8.4, and the 1/4mi is 16.5. i didn't know the sedans were slower.
