Looks like a little EDF. (Electric Ducted Fan). Probably doesn't weigh near as much as it looks like it does. The rate of climb would suggest maybe 10-15lbs.

There's a technical condition among RC flyers that appears to have caused this problem: It's abbreviated as DTS, more commonly known as Dumb Thumb Syndrome.
