Is this too good to be true?
Here is the link...
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMEWA%3AIT
And here is the reply I got from him when I asked him what the reserve was at...
"Hello,
I'm really sorry for this late reply but I've been very busy lately and away from a computer. The price that I want to obtain is $10,500 (including shipping and insurance charges) and the deposit will be set at $2,850. The price is considerably lower then others on the market because I need to sell it really fast.
The car has all the services done at the dealership. The vehicle was never crashed, abused or raced. I always garaged it and serviced it, kept very good care of it!. The vehicle is currently located in Artesia CA but unfortunately I am in Tucson AZ, planning to open a business here and I don't think I can come sooner then next month. However I can arrange for the paperworks from here and I can talk to a shipping company to deliver the vehicle to your address.
I think it's impossible to buy a vehicle for such a big amount without having an inspection first. So I had a look on eBay and I saw they could help us with this. Since the transaction worths a lot of money they've suggested to make the deal only through eBay so that we won't have any problems.
If you decide to buy all the papers are ready, just needed to be signed by you.
If you decide not to buy for a serious reason(of course after the inspection) then you can just ask the shipping company to send it back to my address with no extra cost(shipping is payed in advance by me).I think this is the fastest, safest and most fair solution we can have.
If you are interested to purchase the vehicle please provide me the following information's:
-your full name and address for shipping
-your phone #
If I receive the requested information you will be informed by eBay during the next hours with details about your purchase.
Thank you,
Edgar Cobian"

This is a common format for a scam, and those ones who sell a car for $2500 too. Yeah right, but if you are dumb enough to think you can get a 600hp RX-7 for less than $3000 you don't deserve your money

this scam has been going on for a long time now. they just change their story but its usually moving to a different state/country. i saw something like this a couple of months ago. the address they put was close to where i am so i contacted them and told them im really interested and willing to pay cash but i want to see the car since its so close. the guy gave me a lot of BS about the car being detailed somewhere i cant remember.
sounds to me like it may be stolen, get the vin# and call the dmv in cali where the car is at, if that checks out ok then spend 20 bucks on car fax and run the vin# and see if its been totaled or had water damage,
if it sounds to good to be true, it is

Thats the line you know the deal is not legit. why would ebay inform you if you give him your info?

If you decide to buy a car on ebay go through ebay first, they have some fraud protection. If the seller wants otherwise its probably a scam. Also that looks like a very official form from people who sell lots of cars on ebay, but the seller only has one feedback rating. Might want to report him and send ebay that email. Besides all that dont buy a subaru on ebay, you dont know what kind of retard owned the car before and tore it apart. My brother has a WRX and he was telling me someone on the forum was complaing about the transmission rebiability because he dropped the clutch in reverse and it broke the gear!
Save up and buy one new or from and owner you know a lot about.

* Reserve not met = meaning that there is a minium that has to be reached before he will actually sell it and if that number isn't met then he dosent sell it so he starts low but the reserve is probablly like 20,000 so good luck buddy
