what is the white coating on my bodykit?

exactly what the title says, I took my front bodykit bumper to a bodyshop to get painted, they ****ed up the paint the first time and then told me the reason why they ****ed up was because there was a release agent in the white gel coating on my bodykit, now is this true or is this a line of bullshit?

acutually its kinda true, but if you took it to a body shop that new what they were doin...then they would have know that you need to bake the bodykit in a booth or use a heating element of some sort to bring the release agent to the surface first!!!! then prep and paint it!!!

^exactly...

Its true, the release agent will screw up the pain job, but they should have accounted for that when they got the part in... Its like Autobody painting 101. (Shops bake OEM replacement bumpers to clean out the release agent...)
