Wrong forum, but here's some biased info :
- don't get a bigger bike than a 600cc, for the first year
- suzuki gsxr's supposed to be very reliable
- when you ride, keep yourself in control
- always wear protective gear
- always assume you're invisible to cagers.

hey i would have to recommend the Honda CBR600RR
i have it and i love that bike. the 05 model is the best bike for 05. i bought mine new so i dont know how much a used one would go for though
good luck

Honda CBR600RR
Suzuki GSXR-600
Yamaha YZF-R6
Kawasaki ZX-6R
If it were upto me, I would get an R6. But before you even consider those bikes, get a shtty bike, learn how to ride it. Drop it a couple times, because you will drop it.You dont want to drop a nice bike.

Are you guys even reading his post? Before anyone gets biased and names a bike they want... stop and think for a second.
This guys on a budget of 4grand... he's a complete newb when it comes to bikes (doesn't even know what kind to get) and has zero experience. Now i'd tell you to get something under 600cc but the bikes get ugly when you look into anything other then a Sport Bike... so like I said... get a Honda CBR 600 F3. It's a great beginners bike.

id reccommend s well to get a shitty bike that way you can drop it without getting pissed about droppng a new bike!
good luck

this is mine...

2006 gsxr600. this was my first bike after owning a dirbike for a year. after rideing my friends bikes (CBR600RR,F4I,R6,R1,gsxr1000,older gsxr600s, and ZX6 i think ur best bet is eather a 2004 gsxr600 or 2003-2005 zx6r. they are both super light and easy to control. id look away from the F4I because after u own it for a week u will want somethin faster. lastly i dont think that they should even have street legal bikes over like 900cc because i dont kno anyone that can use 600cc to its full potential let alon a 1000. and now that u have road ready bikes like the new ZX14 with 1399cc that is OBTUSE.....lol
GO 600
thats my thoughts. good luck

i dont think there is an exact answer for that
when i was goin to get a used bike i looked at a yamaha that had 27K on it and i looked at an aprila that had like 42K. the dude that owned it befor used it as a DD and put crazy miles on it. with a bike u CAN NOT beat it for the first 600 miles. that first 600 miles can mean the difrence between thousands of miles of engine lifetime so u would really need to find out how that first 600 or so miles were ridden because if u rip on a brand new engine that revs out to 16k rpms befor the valves are seated ur in for problems.
to answer ur question thow.....I think that a bike could veary well last to 70+ thousand miles because its just like an engine in a car. u may need to replace small things but as long as u dont beat it 24/7 it will last and if honda makes there bikes they way they make cars sh** u can put 350,000 miles on it and it will still run like a CHAMP!!!!!!!!!
