stealership fun
ok, i go down to the dealer to check out the 06 SI. they have none. i tell them i want to check it out, and see how much my car is worth for trade. idiot tells me that he can't appraise it until we talk about buyin the car. eh, he says that they can order some and i would have to put a down payment. and of course i say "ok well you won't refund my downpayment. so nothin goes down till i test drive it" and he keeps raving about how good it is, and i say "i don't care, i want to test drive it first"
stupid dealer. they always think your an idiot.

it's funny when you go in, knowing more than the dumb sales reps do about the car, prices, etc and forcing them to go to their manager for help
hahah. but yea i do hate the dang process you have to go through with encountering those guys whenever you want to buy a car. it'd make life so much easier if they didn't try to hassle you hahah.. only if.

"This is the perfect little sports car for you! It's almost the same as an RSX for half the price!"
I **** you not, that's what one dealer said when I went to look at my 02 EX Coupe. I laughed at him and walked over to another guy that was sitting at his desk.

HAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHHAA
when i was test driving my tc, i downshifted before a corner and accelerated out of it (second gear pwns in that car), and immediately after that the dealer says "now you know you're in a real sports car". i then proceeded to school him on what a "real sports car" is for the rest of the test drive. people like that are generally ricers, this particular salesman was 21.
If you want to get an Si you are just going to have to expect this everywhere. Demand is way over supply for this car, and honda isnt going to change pricing (some dealers might try) or make more than planned so the order lists are already long. My brother is looking at cars right now and he went to a dealer and we talked to them. If you want to get an Si you have to put a downpayment on it upfront, and then youll still need to wait 2-3 months. Just wait a while and maybe youll be able to test drive one. The normal civics and the fit are running pretty low two. The dealer we went to only had 3 civics and 1 fit. Once all the new model craze goes over than buy one. Better off waiting anyways just to make sure any unknown new model issues are fixed. I know its disappointing I was hoping to test drive one with my brother.

i am starting to find out that new si drivers have alot in common with srt4 drivers.
but guys remember the salesman has a job to talk up the car like its the best thing out there. when i went in to drive the ex 06 that guy was going nuts about how good it is. when i got out i was shocked what a piece of crap it really was. i felt bad so i just lied and said its nice but i'll stick with the 7thgen

so the new civic Si came out many months ago...and i saw my first on the road today, in a parking lot. demand is definitely higher than supply. i went to test drive one at the dealer, and they told me that the next 3 truckloads were sold out. he also said that the first day the got the new Si's in some guy bought one right off the truck in cash.
I see about 3-4 a day. Whats really funny is how many people fell for the "special edition" 7th gen which is really just a sticker to trick you in to paying full price for a car that wont be made after that year.

yea i schooled that dude on the price. he was like "i sold one above MSRP." and i looked at him like he was full of ****. you HAVE to be a moron to pay above MSRP. its stupid. anyway, i disagree. car buying should be for people who know how to research. otherwise your asking to get raped. damn turds. "there is only limited production on them" and i said "yea like the type S, i know that..." i think i will blow him off and try a another salesman...

"hey man this thing is awd? no its rwd. lol i say oh, alright. then i am like yah this car looks okay, but its still a neon at heart. he got offend, and was slapping his hand saying its an S R T 4. it has a viper engine. im like maybe viper technology, unless they put half an SRT-8 block in there lol
oh and we drove it nad i asked what the factory boost setting was and hes like, uh whatever the gauge say lol. then asked what the gauge read and he says i dunno i cant read this thing lol bwahahah then told us they wanted 16K for an 03 with 60K miles
sorry it was off the stealership topic, but just proves the lack of knowledge of car salesman. plus it was at a dodge dealership lol

Holy crap, do I have a fun dealership story.
I went to a few stealerships with my friend today, he was looking for a new full size truck, like a Titan, Tundra, F150, etc. He liked the F150 the most (I admit, it was nice, great ride, quiet, and quick, though I would have gone for the Nissan myself, he likes domestics). We get down to dealing. Stick was $34,500. There were $4500 in rebates (a $3500 rebate, and an extra $1000 if you use Ford Financing). That's $30,000. My friend gets them down to $28,000. Fine, cool, good. Now on to the financing. They run his credit, and come back with a $600 monthly payment, my friend told them he was looking for under $500 a month, with a $3000 down payment. At 60 months, a $28000 car with a $3000 down and an interest rate BELOW 7.0% will give you an under $500 payment. $600 a month means 14%!!!
Apparently, with the special "Ford Financing", you CAN NOT get an interest rate below 10%. That's because they need to make back that $1000 that they "gave" you as a rebate on your car. However, they did offer him 5.9% IF he gave up the $4500 in rebates. When the financing guy left to get the paperwork typed up again, we bolted. I drove. As we are leaving the lot, the manager, sales guy, and finance dude are RUNNING AFTER US! I turn out of the stealership, and am stuck at the light. These goofs are running down the street, OMFG! My friend told me to run the red, lol. Luckily it turned green and we were off (VTEC bishes
). He gets a call on his cell a couple minutes later. A couple minutes worth of BSing on the phone and they got the point, he wasn't going to buy **** from them.
We go to his place, get online. Apparently, the same truck he was looking at MSRP's on FORDS WEBSITE for $30000, gee, thats like $4500 less than at the dealership. Hmmm......I wonder why?
As nice as that truck was, I could never buy a car from a place like that. Buying car's with rebates is like buying a digital camera from BestBuy with a rebate, it never pays off. I'd much rather go to a Honda dealership, haggle $1500 off a new Civic, and leave happy. So what I didn't get the worlds greatest deal, I know I didn't get swindled with a bunch of bullshit.

omg i remember test driving cars with my bro, the two best were when we did the lancer OZ whatever and the base jetta. My bro was driving the lancer, when finally gettin onto the freeway the sales guy is like okay punch it! my bro is like i am i am! The car was barely moving with three of us in it, i was thinking wtf are we doing in this tub. It was merging time, the car sounded like it was about to blow, and we just hit 50mph.
next at the vw dealer, i got to drive the jetta too and omg what a pos. the girl was trying to tell us that ya the redline is low and they have tons of torque. just press the gas and see. I did, I'm like where is it? she said idk. hahaha that was over fast. i think it was so terrible she just gave up after a while.

I'd rather wait for the sedan SI to come out.... then i'd wait till some dumb ricer takes a huge loan with a crazy interest rate... can't make the payments and turns it in after acouple months... car has made a large drop in resale value.... and pick it up then.
I went to Gerald Jones Honda in Augusta, was waiting for head bolts to come in, and a key flash.... i asked to drive the S2000... they snickered at me! I looked at the guy and said... "look... i've had my civic for 5yrs now after a simple test drive.... so who's to say i won't buy this? I want a test drive and you want a sale.... guess neither are happening. Now lemme go get these $180 head bolts instead of using it to make a payment on that thing." When i left i peeled out in the parking lot... just outta spite.
I knew i would never go back to that dealership.... but the ones here i keep friendly with, i work part time at a used car dealership, i do detailing and recon, go to auctions and stuff. Some are cool and some are just stupid.... you have to build a relationship with them.... just like the guy that works at Starbucks!

The dealers at all the Gerald Jones dealers suck, the techs are cool, but all the people in the sales are complete *******s. I had a friend that worked in the suby dealer and they fired him since I guess he wasn't an ******* enough and he wasn't selling the useless warranties and add-ons.
