For most headlight strobes, you simply drill a hole in the housing (usually 1/2"), and insert the strobe. You do not need to take apart the headlight housing.

if u r talking about the U shaped ones, I have those. THey are a bitch to put in the HL. U have to drill a hole 3/4" at least and has to go through 2 layers of plastic. Carefull of the chrome inside, don't want to mess that up. Make sure to use lots of automotive silicone to seal it up good.

I have the ones like these and I just wrapped the exposed wires in high temp electrical tape, slipped them into the headlight and put the headlight bulb back in. They look great, and if needed, can be taken out. No drilling for me! Pics soon...

uh, I have a pair and they're bright as hell at night. No, I didn't go out and pay $100 for the cop ones, those just aren't worth all the extra money to me. Like how you phrased they look g a y though

I have two sets of the same exact strobes. I got mine at Autozone for $9.99 apiece. No shipping for me! I have mine mounted in the car, though. I have two mounted in the front of my console ('92 Sunbird), and two in the back of my console. It's cool as hell at night, 'cause they light up my whole car. Once I get my Civic, I'm thinking about relocating these strobes to the engine bay, and maybe my taillights. Then, I want to get some of the good Streetglow ones that are only $15 apiece, and brighter than all four of the ones I have now. Plus, they flash like police strobes, not just steady flashes. They are in little plastic boxes, unlike the headlight strobes. These are actually recommended for interior or exterior mounting. As for my headlights, I'm just gonna get some red headlight neons from Streetglow.
