another day at the stealership<rant>
sorry i wasnt quite sure where to put this so if it isnt at the right place feel free to move it...anyways heres the story:
ive been gettin kind of sick of my 05 civic AUTO and have decided to get an ep3. i looked around and saw that a local honda stealership(Landmark Honda) had an 02 civic si for sale for $15,900 w/ 40k miles. I decided just to go take a look at it and mayb sit in it but got to see wat my car would go for and bargain'd(sp?) a bit on the si's price. the test drive was pretty good, spun the tires in first gear..easily...but one thing that i noticed was a supercharger kind of whinning when slowing down. i take it bak in and noticed the dash was a bit scratched up and oh, the shift **** had some awful(sp?) wear on it(couldnt even freaking read the shift #). anyways to the point....he kept askin if i would be able to call my dad up and buy the car todai if the deal is good but i kept tellin him NO it will not happen. so he gets someone to check out my car to see wat i can get for it and they tell me it will be only $12,500....that started to make me annoyed heres y: my car only has 10k miles, does have damage to the rear bumper(3 gashes in the rear bumper), and its 05. i do understand that it did depreciate b.c i had my aftermarket parts still on the car but i told him that it will be put bak to stock. he then tells me it will b only $13k if i were to do that...it still kind of made me upset cause i know i can atleast get $14k or a bit more. anyways he tells me the price on the si was firm $15,900 and it was a discounted price b.c its an online listed and originally it would b $17k...that didnt seem right. i can get an 04 for $16k with only 20-30k miles nd probably alot better condition. he asks wat i want and i just put down $13k but he wouldnt meet me halfway and still said its a firm price nd not any lower. i just asked for my keys and walked out.
so thats my story. heres a quick cliff notes:
1) 02 civic si sellin for a firm $15,900 with 40k miles
2) offered only up to $13k for my 05 civic ex with only 10k miles
3)i walked out with no deal at all

yea according to edmunds.com the trade value should be around 13,093 and private party would be 14,490 for a 2005 sedan ex, im suprised they took a car with a supercharger on it, what kind did ti have? but still it looks like someone abused that car
