Sell my car?
Hello once again guys, im thinking about selling my civic. A good friend of mine's parents really like how my car looks and they really want to buy it off me for her little brother who just got his instructors permit, he will be turning 16 in like 6 months or something. They want to buy it AS IS... meaning no going back to stock and they said whatever my asking price is, and they will pay for the mods that are on it... sounds like a pretty good deal eh?
ANYWAYS... im wondering what i should ask for it?
its a 2004 EX coupe in NHBP with a manual transmission, 20,190 miles, purchased in november of 2004 new from honda of burien in WA. it had 12 miles on it when i bought it. everythings working properly, car on the inside is basically perfect, 9.5/10, the exterior has a few blemishes like rock chips and door dings, nothing too bad tho, and nothing that people would notice if it werent their car, although i will probably get them fixed by a dent wizard or something before selling it.
MODS: (price i paid for the mod)
--AEM SRI ($100-120)
--Megan 4-1 header ($60)
--GReddy EVO2 catback (free, but they dont know that)
--RSX-R Rear spoiler ($150)
--MSR 105 wheels (17" gunmetal) with tires (fair amount of tread left) (wheels:$450, tires:$200)
--Skunk2 sport lowering springs ($120)
--Revo SS ($95)
--Sparco Torino seats (black, slightly faded) ($600 for the pair but i consider that a steal)
--Optima battery ($80-$90 or so)
Sorry for the long read, but what do you guys think? ones with similar mileage on autotrader around anywhere from 15K-19K (which seems high), and the KBB value at 20,000 miles (33,000 is average according to KBB):
Condition
Excellent
$16,210
Good
$15,295
Fair
$14,010
thanks for reading all this, and i would really appreciate some good insight into this. what do you guys think i should ask?

I would ask 15K-16K dollars. Dont charge them for all the mods. Give em a good deal since they are giving you such a good opportunity.
What car are you moving on to if you sell?

the real question is what are you willing to part it for. then you have to ask if it's a far price. If not, then you shouldn't sell your car because it worth more to you then anyone else.
I would find out what kind of car you replace it with. and what kind of money your looking at for that.
It's a real deal that they will pay for the Mods, most people will pay you less cause it's modded.

yeah but the thing is that they offered to pay for the mods and they DONT want it stock, they want it how it is. Im looking at possibly an Integra type r or a WRX or something, not sure yet.
just don't rip off your friend, that always comes to haunt to later. Give them a good deal. What you would get for it off the street. If they want to pay for the mods fine. Then just add up all the mods, then add about 50-80% of that depending on how much you want for them. you can't really charge much for the rims and tires. as well as the battery. Unless your going to give them the stock wheels too. so they have an extra set.
My 2cents is 16.5k is a good deal.

yea, selling to someone who's close to you will be dicey, especially when the first thing to "go wrong" on the car comes up.
I would actually try to get the most $$ for the car that you could, and that would exclude selling to a family friend because they would expect to get a good deal.
this might not make sense, but you could always consider selling the guy just the mods so he can go buy a stock vic and have the mods installed. that would allow you to sell return your car to stock and sell it for less depreciation

that is a decent idea, but i mean its a honda civic, its a 2004, its almost new, no problems, i dont abuse it, ive never crashed it, no bullshit here... at least they would KNOW that theres no bullshit with the car rather than buying used... plus im not trying to rip them off, im just wondering what a fair good price that would help us both out is. im 18, they are in their 40s. if anything they would want to give me a good deal because im young and dont have the money that they do. honestly, these people are stacked, $$ aint that much of an issue to them, especially when it come to 1-2 thousand dollars.
Thanks for the 16.5 suggestion, thats right around what i was thinking.
