1/8th Mile 700hp Lightning vs 530hp Civic
1/8th Mile 700hp Lightning vs 530hp Civic
Video taken from our local 1/8th mile track. I didn't put this in my other 1/8th mile video thread because I wasn't the one that filmed it. Just turn up your volume and imagine being there with the pop corn cut off from the civic

edit - just got some info about the civic
its 535hp at the wheels, with a b20 vtec running at about 24psi

Dream truck..well it was, the Ford Lightning. The motor..which powers the Ford GT
The vid, shoulda got the times though..grrr.
Weight of the Lightning is 4800lbs+
Civic..is I am guessing 2300-2400? Is that not fair?

heres what someone said..
"the civic has 535 hp at the wheels at 24 psi(around 630 at the crank) and vs the lightning he was running at 30 psi.
i doubt the lightning is 700hp at the wheels its more like 700 at the crank. and it weighs at least 4600lbs with a driver
to have 700hp at the wheels hed have 878hp at the crank and a 1/4 time of around 10.9 and it wouldnt make sense since he kept the stock supercharger.
so 700hp at the crank is around 568hp at the wheels and would give a 1/4 time of around 11.7-11.8
so the lightning pulls very hard considering its hp and its weight. theres not a big difference in hp so its normal the civic passed it so quickly considering its nearly half the trucks weight"
sry if something doesnt make sense, i had to translate it from another language(french)

I call BS on the 700HP Lightning.Plus shittiest vid ever
This is my buddies lightning and it's 670 at the wheels. He has a 1.56 60ft.The way that Civic went it would have a 1 sec 60ft?

I think it's the Rapid Fire nitrous. It sounds like a machine gun

the 2 stage rev helps 4 launch, if u have an AEM EMS you can have it, my friend has one in his STi. all i know is that at the line u turn it on and ur car revs right at what u have it set to like 2,500 RPM and it halps ur launch, and it spools ur turbo up faster and all that good ish.

lightning comes down to being a truck = 1/4 mile fast only
the only awesome truck is the denali-awd, twin turbo 427 sonoma. this thing eats the 1/4mile, AND handles.
