Two years, only "mod" is and AEM SRI and I've had no problems. I love this car. Hell, it's an 04 Auto VP and I love it. It handles like a wet dream, great in snow, even with stock tires. A buddy of mine is always telling me to trade it in for a RSX-S or even just buy and older Vic and swap it. I usually just tell him to fvck himself. He's always buying junkers and trying to mod them for different purposes. I just tell him that If I wanted a fast car, I'd buy an STI. So, all-in-all, I love this car. Id take this thing over an 8th gen anyday.

ya i got my 7thgen for my first car i also have the auto and mines a 01 and the tranny does suck im at about 72k on the motor and the tranny kicks onces in a while but doesnt bother me much cuz im doing a kswap hopefully in a week or two
This thread reminds me of my college roomate who thought his 99 Civic Si (Canadian) was a high performance machine and took it to a race track to do some laps. Long story short he threw the third piston because of the oiler problem that is apprantely common in this car.
The civic is great at what it is meant for: an economical form of sporty transport. My personal 7th gen has 205,000kms (about 140,000 miles i think) and it drives like it is new. The normal parts have been replaced (rear brakes, timing, water pump, etc. Other than the paint needing de-oxidation it still looks great too. This is not to say that when i finish school and start making the big cash that I will buy another one. I would upgrade to the STI, new upcoming Supra or the 350Z. One thing you won't ever catch me dead in is a car from GM, Ford or Chrysler.

Um, no. I've driven my share of different vehicles. Simply because I like the way the car handles apparently means that it HAS to be the only one i've ever driven. Wow. I've taken turns at 40-45 MPH over the "suggested" speed and never had a problem. Sure it's got some body-roll but it still sticks to the road.

im just starting to lose my throwout bearing on my clutch... after 5 years of having the car, thats not to bad.
I love having the option to keep the car longer and have NO payments and really just driving it till it dies, then do a Swaper.

Isn't that what happens when you pay it off?
Ya BLOUISGOD, were old school members. I'm on 5 years 60,000m and it's going strong, knock on wood. My throwout bearing is starting to go but the only check engine light thins car ever pulled was for a O2 sensor.
I might drive it till the wheels fall of!
