miata = cheap dependable to some extent and all you really need is shocks and springs. maybe roll bar. everything else is accessories as for the 240sx.... it has drifted overpriced. sr20det is pretty nice being turbo and part aviability and all, but cops these days will nail you with them. as for personal experiances, maintenance is some what of a b*tch. ka-t... well turbo doesnt =go very well with a truck engine at all, many problems. i've had my personal share of experiance with s13's (and s14's)....ended up giving up on the s13 and got rid of it. and for an RX-7 very high and expencive maintenace as well. being rotary and all... walls of the block are thin and eats up gas. expect swapping out engine within 80K miles at most. as for the e36....if you have money, two words for you... GET IT!!!! imo one of the greatest cars in the world... :P

i would go with the RX-7. like a 89 or something. gettem for cheap.
old 300zx. that would be pimp. they come stock turboed. i had a chance to grab one up for 1200 out the door at this shitty used car store. i passed for the civic, i didn't know if the turbo was working, and was a nissan newb.
find an old turbo regal- those were pimp and cheaper than GNX's
old pontiac formula one- i think thats what they are called.
old camaros
the pre-91 mustangs are great, i love them to death. but i hate the ones after that. thats when they all went to ****...

yeah, i'd say a miata is a great car for rwd tuner performance. but then again i have a friend with a 98 camaro he got for 4 grand, supercharged and tuned it for like 3 and is putting down around 650 hp. to the wheels. i've also got a friend that bought an rx7 for 500 bucks and is dropping an ls1 in it.

1G DSM's are supposed to only be RWD? OMG! *Runs out to my Talon* Oh no, it's AWD! I've got to hit the DSM forums and see if other people are having this freak onset of AWD Fever
And stop reccomending Miatas. The guy already said he was 6'3. I'm 6'2 and on my mother's Miata my damn head stuck out above the windshield when I rode in it. Leg room? HA. I had to put my feet BEHIND the pedals with my knees to my chest just to sit in the driver's seat!
Older RX7. End of Discussion

well it don't say import only. even though "tuner" makes it seem import only. try some domestics. don't hate me! its cheap hp! depends on what you want. the old turbo regals were great. cheaper than GNXs too. any old checy RWD or pontiac or any GM. hell you could get a crate motor for a few thousand thats already tuned for like 400hp. but thats not fun right? 80 rivieras and novas and stuff at junkyards are hella cheap! good luck
RX-7. I have rebuilt rotaries on my coffee table. Seals are cheap. There is just no feeling like a rotary.
I'm tired of going through why rotaries are so great. Just do a member search under my name. You'll find some good info. Don't listen to the ill informed or the ignorant. Rotaries can be as cheap or as expensive as you want to make it. Depends on platform, application, and how crazy you want to get with it.
