I think fast is really subjective. Lots of people have fast straight line cars that cant turn for a damn.
I think anything that can set a respectable lap around a REAL (i.e. road course style) race track is fast.

I think that essentially for a car to be truly fast, it only needs to be very well balanced.
A 150hp civic can out run much 'faster' cars if the power band is matched to the course well, along with an excellent suspension.

I think the evo is a great piece of engineering but as a car they are just ricey and ridiculous. Not supercar ridiculous either, just a bit too over the top

I think that i am getting a cheap RWD after i graduate and learn to drift... not to drift for drifting, but to drift to learn to control a rwd car oversteering.
If i want fast cars later on in life, i need to be able to handle them at their limits!

fast car has to be good in many categories..... so cars like a Porsche GT3, Lotus Exige.... as for modding cars, I would think a SC S2K, 400WHP Evo, stripped M3, 350WHP RX-7 those should be plenty fast.
