My father is a marine mechanic and is often working on boats with big A$% motors. Right now he has one with twin supercharged v8s with over 900hp each. The funny thing was a motor blew and the owner couldn't figure out why because he never got it even close to Redline. And it turns out he was trying to feed 2 900hp motors with two air intakes that are equal in size to the K&N filter in my civic.
sad thing is that boat only does about 90-95 MPH. But it's also 40 feet long.
He has also installed a supercharger in a boat that started with 600 Hp and boosted it to around 850. Just because this guy boat this $90,000 boat. and on the first day out he was smoked in a race by his friend. Voided his warranty, on the $40,000 motor.
My dad also made him sign something so he wasn't liable if the boat jumps out of the water, the prop spins up, then because the motor has so much torque that when it lands back in the water, the prop can catch and totally flip the boat over. Usally boats that powerful come with two counter rotating props. We've sence seen the boat. and it fast.....
