Ok, I watched the dvd since I was bored for only the second time since I bought it in January. All I have to say is that people shouldn't use this movie to gain knowledge about cars because it is all wrong. I must have seen at least 6-7 things that are just plain wrong throughout the movie. I want to see if anyone else picked up on this. so,

1. When it shows the eclipse in the beginning near the stadium, the guy shifts 6 (six) times! i didnt know that mitsu made a 6spd eclipse or even a conversion kit to adapt it to a 6 speed.

anyone else have some input?

it's a movie, live with it! it's not ike thsay named the movie "the offical japanese import racing - tech guide" or some sort, it's a movie, they have to make it dramatic

i agree with voiceofid - the point of a movie is to entertain people, and the majority of people don't know the difference anyway, so they are entertained. many movies are like that - there are glaring inaccuracies in top gun, one of my favorite movies, but it's fun to watch anyway. or how about gone in 60 seconds, where he jumps a half mile traffic jam on a bridge and doesn't screw his car up at all? it's just how the movies are, it's not a tech guide.

A movie is going to be LESS enjoyable if all we do is look at every small detail, analyze it like the scientists that we are, and compare it with reality.

Just enjoy the movie and stop your whining.

Hey Blouisgod, he does shift 6 times, but if you listen really close, when he is in 6th gear, right before he spins out, you will hear the blowoff valve of the turbo, so he actualy shifts 7 times

That dudes ability to identify how much "nos" is in the eclipse by looking under the hood when the tank is in the back seat.

How the CGI (who the heck would do that anyway ) rendering of the RX-7 has pistons.

Yes I do realise it's a movie, but I just find it funny some of the things they got wrong, and how some people are stupid enough to belive what's in a movie. That's like watching a bugs bunny cartoon and saying "duck season SHOOT!"

Here's an error someone posted before.... the cop car when they break up the races and dom is running, it changes brands from a chevy to ford when it goes around a building

yeah, the whole movie is an ad for NOS. They make it sound like the only brand of nitrous on earth!!

Naokisan:

the size of the tank has nothing to do with the amout of nitrous is injected. True, he couldnt tell by just looking, but the shot is determined by the size of the jets/pills/whatever you want to call it, but not the bottle.

ALSO, when Johnny Tran comes back and shoots the eclipse up, and the "NAWZZZZZZ" explodes, thats another fake moment... nitrous is not flamable.

Some people have too much time on their hands...Unless your an import freak, you should love the movie. finally guys like us get some respect! Do you know how long it takes to turn a GM owned and operated city or state like MI to get to watch a movie like TFATF? Just be thankful! Of course it has its downs...but Damnit it was a good movie! And it had civics in it..lol waht more could i ask for? all im saying is its a movie, let it rest

Also when Johnny Tran shoots up the Eclipse.. Spilner runs in front of the gunfire...he shoulda rounded the back of the car..you even see squibs exploding behind him.. He's magickman bullets pass right through him..

It's awesome movie with great entertainment value..I found a crapload of things wrong with it.. but I do in every movie too.. but I still enjoy them.. it's Entertainment afterall...

Cheers

It is, and it isn't. It will split into O and N at around 520 degrees, so if there was already a fire (from the gas) there could be a chain reaction that would essentially make the car explode.

To add:
-Ever hear a manual click like that, I haven't
-The Eclipse is an RS but it has a turbo. I guess he added it, by why not start with the car w/ a turbo to begin with?

<sarcasm>WHAT, FAST AND FURIOUS NOT TECHNICALLY CORRECT?

YOUR ALL LIARS! YOU WILL ALL ROT IN THE DEEPEST ABYSS OF THE UNDERWORLD FOR SAYING THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS IS A HOLLYWOOD SHAM!!!!

NOS IS KING, AND T-66 TURBOS ARE HIS SUBJECTS. BOW DOWN TO THE MIGHTY 100 SHOT OF NOS, AND PRAY IT DOESN'T BLOW THE WELDS ON YOUR INTAKE!!!!

YOU CANNOT RUN FROM JESSIE, HE WILL TRACK YOU DOWN AND VINCE WILL BEAT YOU UP!

</sarcasm>

its a hollywood movie people, of course alot of it is going to be wrong.

Here's one for you...
In Jurassic Park... they had Dinosaurs... They don't exist in REAL life... F & F is fun.
Besides that, the biggest inconsistency in F&F is the Paul Whatshisnut's acting.
Later,
Gator...
I'm working on a short film spoof - The Quick & the Quixotic.

If he said something about "he's pumping NOS," then yes, that would be true, but I think the line is something like "he's got enough NOS in here to blow himself up." I'm not sure exactly what the line is, I'll have to find out..

Oh, and I've only seen the movie once. Yes, once. I don't own the DVD, nor do I wish to.

Well you are right in a way....NOS does not burn....all depending on the amount of heat it is introduced to.....then it will burn....but it will hella mess up your car if it does explode,,

How bout this. This is what happens when you install a turbo incorrectly. This guy lives across the street from one of my good friends, and they are actually in the process of rebuilding the car.
