Most FUN engine swap??? (NOT FASTEST!)
I am wondering what you people think the most fun engine swap would be in our civics? I DO NOT MEAN THE FASTEST. Huge HP doesn't necessarily make the car fun to drive. What about consistent torque? High redline? Sound?
I want you to post what you think the most fun motor would be (and make sure it would be small enough to fit with some work)
Here are my 2 picks:
Mitsubishi 4G63 destroked
(kit here http://www.slowboyracing.com/shop.php?sid=&cat=2536 )
Everyone here knows that a 2.1L with a 10,000+ rpm redline would be amazingly fun.
Renesis:
Tell everyone you have a 1.3L civic and they will laugh... right up until you rev the rotary to 9000 rpm and they hear all 232 horses. Rotaries are amazingly smooth and having a pretty potent one would make this even better than any K series swap (with similiar upgrades)

My engine pick would probably be a rotary b/c of their small displacement and high RPMs

anything with a high redline, I.E. type r motors or the Mitsubishi or Nissan has some. but a B18c5 with Spoon Sports EVERYTHING! or K20a same route. thats my route for a lower, more affordable dream to me.

yeah the high redline engines are a blast. even without a ton of horsepower they are really fun.
I'd put a 2JZ-GTE. It would be so fun to see the car trying to balance on the front wheels with the rears on the air

[EDIT] Forgot to mention. It would be fun seeing the rears on the air and the car not moving since the engine was built for RWD cars, lol.

um what happened to keep it reasonable so that it would fit?
the W16 would suck in the civic too. its too light of a car to really get any traction from 1000 hp even with awd. no tires we could fit in our cars would stick at all. it wouldnt work and thus wouldnt be FUN.
2JZGTE prob wouldnt fit but maybe with a RWD conversion in which case would be a tremendous amount of fun

yeah you can get the W16 in but like I said it wouldnt really be fun.
Honestly, you dont need more than 200hp to have a truly fun engine. In our cars a K swap is great fun. So something less than 300hp is more than adequate. High revving and smooth engines are fun. Rock solid torque through all rpms on an engine is fun.
Slipping around on spinning tires no matter how easy you are on the gas is not fun.
Get my point? Agree/disagree?

Ah. Agreed.
Ammmm... well a Mini Cooper S engines is fun... but I donno how it would translate into our cars?

thats why I said about a nice high revving silky smooth rotary or a normal piston engine going up to and over 10,000 rpm both between 200 and 300 horsepower. those would be serious fun.
