Rep Power: 0 What would you choose?
Alright here's the deal. I was going to purchase a 2002 Civic Si (up here in Canada) this spring. So by the time spring rolls aroud I should have about 3 grand left over for mods. But then I started looking at another option. A totally base RSX would cost almost the same, (and judging from the Honda Tuning Mag) 3 grand in a Civic still wouldn't put it near the 160hp in the base RSX (without NOS tht is). So that is my other option. My only worry is that MOST aftermarket companies, when making products will have the Type S in mind. So I'm worried that were I won't have the Type S, aftermarket products will be quite difficult to find. Would this be the case, or would they be compatible? Is another option to change the RSX to a Type S over a period of time? Or should I stick with a Civic? What would you do?

Rep Power: 0 RSX....is their really a decision? I would be driving one if I didn't need a 4-door for my 2 year old daughter. Trust me, you will love that acura and its engine!

Rep Power: 0 But if I were to get a base RSX, would I be able to use those aftermarket products? Also would the change from RSX to RSX Type S be possible?(as I don't have the money right now)

Rep Power: 0 The base RSX is basically the Civic Si hatch. 2.0L 160hp and the aftermarket will be large for
that which means that the base RSX will have the same.

Rep Power: 0 I agree with carbonfiber, the engine is the same as the civic si, and the chassis is the same as the type-s. Thus there will be both good chassis support and good engine support. I say go with rsx, definitely....

For your situation and the one you presented...RSX all the way. Its the only and logical choice.
But given more of your situation, the decision could be different.
Like, what is the main purpose of this car? Do you have any kids? Preformance or Economy Style? Stuff like that you have to consider.
Buying a 2 door with also having a baby for me is insuffient and not suitable for my type of situation.

i sat in the SiR... oh yea baby... felt so good...
and the shifter works SO well...

Rep Power: 0 << Whats the engine codes of the base RSX and the 2002 Civic Si? Because the RSX has 9 more lb/ft.... >>
Both are K20A3. Something about the final drive ratio on the Si gives it less torque.

The main purpose of the car is really just to get me to school and back, and hopfully have a lot of fun in the process. No kids, just me and the g/f. And really I'd like a blance between economy and performance... I mean I'm not going for a Insight, but then again I'm not going for a V8 ethier. And I'm definatly going to mod it.... My dad owns a Contour SVT and my goal is for it to beat that (0-60 and hondeling). I'm pretty set on the RSX..... for now anyways
