I just another ticket for running a stop sign near my house . It is my 5 ticket in about 8 months . I feel cops like to pull over people who drive nice cars and give it to them up the a ss .
I really could do without cops right now. anyone else having this problem?

last time I checked my CVC it said you couldnt do that.....

Yeah, I'd say a majorit of the time cops are just doing their job, which I don't hold against them. But every now and then one of them has gotta be an *** about something and that kinda ruins it for all of them [IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/IMG]

there really should be 2 different types of running stop sign tickets.. there should be a $10-20 ticket equivilant to a parking ticket (i.e. no points or insurance rate raises or anything) for a rolling stop (say up to 8mph or so), and then the normal ticket for anything over that, because those two things are VERY different, rolling stops are almost never dangerous (rolling stop = almost stop, *look*, and go *if its clear*), but blowing a stop sign at 20mph or just plain ignoring it can be extremely dangerous. obviously there are some places where a rolling stop isnt safe, but there are places where a complete stop is retarded and simply wastes gas (i.e. clear vision 4 way stops when there is obviously no one there)

OK this is enough.... this is like the 3rd cop bashing thread this week.... what kind of ignorant thing to say... we dont pull people over just to be an *** or as you said cause you drive a nicer car, I drive a civic so what do you have to say about that? also, the reason you get pulled over for little things like rolling a stop sign is so hopefully we will find something or you might have a warrant or something else. I guarantee if you just set there say yes, sir or no, sir and all you really did is roll a stop sign and at least for the time being act like an upstanding member of society, you will prob. just get a warning or let go... so next time just keep your mouth shut if you decide to drive like a moron again

i just got one last week for the same thing. i'm sure it was a qucik stop n go but he said i was goin 15mph. n i'm not sure what it was but when he pulled me over, he acted as if i had a gun n i was gunna shoot him. he told me to put my hands outside the window, asked if i had anything in the car or if anyone else was in the car. n while the guy was talking to me, his partner stuck her head inside my car n was all lookin around.

i dont think they pull over the people with nice cars they pull over the dumbasses in cars like yourself who break the law. you sound so ignorant blaming a cop for u blowing a stop sign, it would be more of an argument that cops pull over people with nicer cars if u were speeding wit alot of other cars and u were the only one who got pulled over. but for blowing a stop sign ur just dumb and gettin so many tickets u should have ur license taken away.

ya i figured the reason he pulled me over was cause he thought i was joyriding(ya i admit i look 12). or maybe its cause he saw an asian guy in a civic n stereotyped me. i was kinda bein an ***, all i said was 'may i ask why you pulled me over' but kinda said it with an attitude. ey he was askin for it tho, cause what was the reason for asking me to put my hands outside the window n everything. but ya i would like to know the reason for not giving me a ticket the regular way....

So if I may ask...when an officer asks you to step out of the vehicle, and you have no warrants or you're not a fleeing felon or driving a stolen car...basically nothing happened except I was speeding......you have the right to ask me to step out of my vehicle, but I have the right to say no, because there is no law stating that you can make me get out of my vehicle unless I am being subdued or am under arrest...is this correct ?

And I'm talking about nothing else is wrong, no offense in site, no open container, no pot smoke bellowing out or anything, just asking me to get out....I have the right to say "no" right ?

the law says if we have reason to suspect something or we fear for our safety we can search the inside of the car for weapons only and we can search you for weapons only... now if we find drugs that were not in plain view then we cannot seize them legally.... now i understand there are alot of officers who abuse this but hey if you dont do drugs then you have nothing to worry about right?

technically you can say no or at least ask them why.... but honestly I would not suggest that because if he is allready in a bad mood he prob. wont like you saying that.... and like I said if you have nothing to worry about then just go along with him and he will see your ok.... also you gotta understand we do this so many times and the one time we dont think a person will kill us is going to be the one that has the gun in his pocket

i understand they didn't exactly search but they still did look inside my car. n what exactly is it when they fear for their safety? when they see a black person? when they see an asian person? i just dont see any reason for them to fear for their safety.
you seem pretty koo but 99% of the cops i ran into are b*tches. like this one time when my friend was getting interrigated forsomething that happened at her work. the cop was all saying "this is just between you n me" n she admitted to something n was going to tell her boss about it. but even before she got a chance to the cop told her boss. i mean wtf, she trusted him n he backstabs her like that. but then i guess that his job, to be an a$$hole n f*ckin lie to get whatever they want out of a person.

And I know for a fact that they can't search my Glove Box or my trunk unless I am under arrest and
my car is being impounded, in which time they may do an "inventory search"...that is what got me off
of my possesion charge 2 years ago.m The officer found the weed in my glove box, I was under arrest for traffic warrants
but my girlfriend was with me and I gave her permission to drive my car home, but they searched the glove
box and the trunk anyways and found my 2 ounces, so the case was dismissed..

sorry if i offended you but i'm just mad that most of us cant say/do anything about it. we just gotta shut up n take it. but ya like i said you seem koo tho. only other cop i have respect for was this one guy that was boppin his head to my music... took me awhile to figure it out but i turned down my music n everything was koo.

02CarbonCivic, you dont have to answer this but i would be grateful if you did.... i heard that if cops dont show up to court, they automatically throw your ticket out... i'm pretty sure this is true but my question is, do most cops show up? how much is a ticket for not stopping anyways? i have yet to get it in the mail.

the amount should be listed on the back of the ticket you just have to find it.... as far as court goes it depends on the violation... just a little traffic ticket i'm not gonna waste my time and show up at court so usually if you decide your not gonna pay it and go to court i will never know which one you choose so if you do go to court most likely the judge will just give you probation or something and not make you pay it

I have absolutely nothing against cops, I hope I didn't give that impression. I was just asking because I wanted to know about the
getting out of the car thing....I bug the hell outta the cops I shoot with at my gun club by asking questions, simply because I want to know how certain things work and what my rights are....I have the utmost respect for cops and think that they should get paid a hell of a lot more than what they do.....For instance, did you hear about what happened to that officer in Dallas last night....?? If not, check it out, I say they should kill that mother fucker that shot the cop for no reason whatsoever....why shouldn't I respect cops...thier job is life or death all day, every day.....

I am not bashing cops in general just the ones that are jerks. and yes it is my fault but i do feel like i get picked on a little more with my civic than my last car. and to 02carboncivic no offense to you or any other cops i am getting fed up with speeding tickets for going 50 in a 45 . that is stupid .
