lowered & kit = not made to tow
Well, in our great state of taxachusetts, apparently my registration had expired and the state of mass will not forward mail to you. We just bought a house and getting married in June, so I had no idea my reg. ran out. Well, driving home from work (about 75 minute commute) I get pulled over one town away from work. I had no idea why, and he took the lic,reg and didn't tell me shiat. 20 f'n minutes go by, I have NO idea what this cop is doing, then he hands me 100$ fine, unregisterd MV, tells me tow truck is on their way and I need to find a ride home.I ask if it affects insurance points, and he says YES. GREAT........ I'm like what, you're kidding me.
I told him I needed a flat bed and he basically says I get what the tow guy brings, and that's that. I tell him about the kit, lowering springs, he could care less. THANK GOD the tow driver was cool...took us about 20 minutes to get the stupid car on the flatbed, using wood, etc. bottom of kit is scratched, but whatever.........I had a wonderful day........40$ at registry, 90$ to get car out of pound, 20$ for gas for friend to pick up and bring to work next day, 100$ fine and 15% increase on my insurance.....YAY
Makes me think about getting another car and keeeping stock. I never would, but we DEFINETLY get profiled, ****, my rims arn't even on yet, gotta roll the fenders first. My record is pretty bad, yes, some is from stupidity, but most is from profiling, due to the car. They all think we're TFATF racers or something cause we like sleek, clean, modded cars....END RANT

I feel ya man - I got off lucky a couple weeks ago
The cop pulled me over for "Hot rodding" and said an officer back in a town I had passed had seen me doing it. I had just gotten new insurance cards, and hadn't put them in my car yet. All I had were the temps the agent gave me a couple months prior. To top it off the car wasn't even in my name yet. I didn't even have the little notice of transaction submitted that the Oregon DMV gives you. Luckily I had the sales contract in my car to prove it was mine. But in the end I didn't get a ticket, he just handed me my stuff back and said have a nice day. I left wondering exactly WHY he had pulled me over, Because as far as I know "hot rodding" isn't in the Oregon lawbook. I wasn't speeding at all...God I hate officers that think customized imports = street racers. Bet if I was driving a 69 Camaro SS he would have been asking me to do donuts for him.

hmmmmm...yes you were profiled..do not let that get you f*cking down...that **** will obviously come back to the cop cuz it seemed like you did nothing wrong. I'm not trying to be a Big D*ck but it happens all the time and at least we didn't see you on the news for smacking a cop in the face. I've gotten a couple of tickets before for doing absolutely nothing wrong but life is unfair..just keep it moving and be careful next time. also this is a lesson for you to make sure your **** is always straight before you get on the road next time. That's the only way you can say F*ck you to all those unfair cops looking to harrass you. and yes you got some great luck with the towtruck guy..could of fugged ur **** up..but it didn't..

I have actual nightmares of a tow truck putting my car on the truck and the back bumper just peeling right off the car… while I am tied up in a chair with duck tape on my mouth sitting across the street watching this. Then that f***er is laughing right at me while he watches me struggle.
Then I wake up sweating. Oh the sleepless nights... What is sad right now is that my registration sticker is out right now. But I just got it in yesterday but have yet to put it on.

yeah, luckily the tow guy was cool.......he hates cops as well, saying it was the third tow that day from this rookie "horney" cop as he called him.
When the car was finially on the truck, the cop said laughing, any other tow truck driver would've wrecked your whole undercarriage, ha ha...yeh,
**** YOU, how's that officer.......

I love cops....just wanted to throw that in....I just ,mailed out my citation for a court hearing, hopefully I'll get off - I've already got points on the insurance for a insp sticker, which shouldn't have ANYTHING to do w/ how I drive.
What's "profiling"?
Bad to hear about your great day, man. Hope it gets better (not ironical, I mean it).

Profiling is when a cop pulls you over not based on anything illegal that you did but rather based on your skin color or your car. When they do it they will say something stupid like you didn't stop for that stop sign or your car matches the description of one that was seen near a crime scene. Also, regarding the wood for the ramp, I dispatch for AAA and most of our flatbeds carry it so they can ramp cars that are real low. The thing though for most auto clubs that are a member based tow service, they have it written that they do not guarantee towing of lowered cars. Our towing policy states that if "vehicle is manufactured or modified in a way that interferes with the safe rendering of service" we do not cover it. This allows us to reduce damage suits on things like kit cars and modified cars. I don't agree with it since we tow Porsches and Ferraris, but I see where they are coming from on a business side of it.
hah, yes i feel your pain, im in boston everyday and live one town up, the cops around here profile pretty bad, but its cus the civics from some places like chelsea and ****, i know alot of them and alot are very illegal.
one day a statie in everett was going the opposite way and slammed on his brakes and did a u-turn to get behind me, followed me for a mile till i was on state roads and pulled me over for no front plate i was like wtf!!!! luckily he only gave a written warning.

01Hondercivic, When you go to court to fight a ticket, the cop is supposed to be there so you can see your accuser, so he probably didn't give the ticket because he knew it was BS, probably hopin to find something else in the mean time. I've contested both tickets I've recieved, one for supposedly speeding and one for too dark tint while I was living in Hawaii. Both times the cop didn't show for court and I got them excused.
