PLAYSTATION 2 AND LCD IN CAR WITH PICTS!
i just installed stuff last night took about 3 hours to disassemble/wire/reassemble. happy with results! oh yeah thats Led zepplin's song remains the same dvd! Some of you kids prolly dont know who the zepplin is!Dakota

Rep Power: 0 yes guages were easy to install! and no i dont get glare cause my windows are black and cause the monitor is under the hvac and stereo controls! yes zepplin its tight! the tightest! i watched college girls gone crazy on my way home tonight! traffic was bad so i watched nudies!dakota

Rep Power: 0 Hey Dakota - that is so sweet man. I'm buying things piece by piece for my A/V system. I'm also interested in knowing what kind of screen that is, also did you make a custom mount - the screen actually looks very good there - like it belongs.

man, thats tight as h3ll.. i would put mine there when/if i get a monitor, but yet i use the cig lighter for my radar detector, and i have a flip switch on those button covers where the foglight switch would be (for my amp) so i dont know how well that would work out. i'd love to have a custom indash screen. mmmm

Rep Power: 0 its a secret how i mounted it! im good at mounting things like sheep and goats! i am gonna do something special with the mounting of my radar detector!Dakota i installed a black switch(unnoticable) in the little tray under e brake handle for my dc inverter!

If you don't like the music, thats one thing, but saying they suck.....it's just wrong. If you ask any real musician about the beatles, I can almost guarantee that nobody will say the beatles suck.

pimpdakota, what kind of screen is that? how much, where bought ect.... and did you wire the sound up to the back of the H/U so the ps2 plays over the car sound sys? then the 2 other rca plugs go into the lcd panel right? And where's the power coming from for the screen and converter? Relocate the cig lighter plugs?
I'm planning on doing this next weekend hopefully and it would help so much! I know you want to keep it original but i'm not planning on leaving fla and going 2500 miles northwest

Rep Power: 0 Ok here ya go! i wasnt gonna do this at all until i went to this car stereo place looking for a new phone face and maybe another amp for my wife avenger! so i went to the store and i saw a sign that said everthing must go today only! they went bankrupt and were liquidating merchandise! so i browsed then came across this 8 inch lcd screen but no price! so asked and the guy at the counter said 70.00$ and so i boughtit! So i proceeded to pick stuff up like the dc inverter 300w continuous and 700 w peak! and then i was gonna buy an fm modulator but started reading thru sound domain .coms archives and hear people talkin about bus port cables and pigtail ai net adapters! well what it is, is a adapter that plugs into the disc changer harness on the back of the head unit and converts to rca cables! i did this so that i could play the plastation 2 over audio system! I mounted the screen in cigarette lighter portion of the dash because it is easy to see, dont get any glare,and didnt want to tear appart upper dash, and didnt want to obstruct any veiw! I also did the seperate screen with playstation so that passangers could still veiw while vehicles in motion unlike some of the in dash dvd's that ive seen with motion sensor to turn off screen if it detects motion! i currently have the playstation under my passanger race seat. But am playing with the idea of putting it in my glove box! i am also looking for 2 more screens to go in my visors but my wife wnats her car done too! so i have a tv tuner control and xm radio hub with antenna arriving at my house in a couple days! so with out the stuff i have ordered i have a very minimal amount of money invested to build my system! I also mounted a switch in the cubby try beneath the park brake handle, to turn on and off the dc inverter. I would insist you do install yourself if you have some knowledge of electrical systems and multimeters! it will save you lots of cash!Dakota

Rep Power: 0 thanks pimp, that helped quite a bit... damn thats a good deal you got on an 8" screen.... I'll probably get a smaller one for around $100 on ebay. Get one with the rca preouts so there's less wires to mess with. Then run out to target and get a power inverter and an extra long set of wires for the PS2 wiring from the passenger seat. That way I can keep the other cables in my room if I want to bring it back inside sometimes.... hopefully the one I put in will fit as well as yours!! Looks very professional
oh and ebay has some screens that would work well in visor/seat mounts for $75 or so apiece heres some old auctions for anyone interested in doing that
