95 Honda Prelude - To Buy or Not To Buy?

My brother's wife's sister works for a collision center where they tow cars and stuff and they have a 95 Honda Prelude and she said I can have it for $500. The only thing that is wrong with it is there is no back bumper. So I figure we are looking at $1,000 to get this car back to normal. Should I get it and make it a project car? I have been thinking about it for a couple of weeks now.

robbclark, I never thought of that. I am really thinking of it now. I could always sell it to my dealer and put the money towards my Civic payment or mods. Or I can fix it up a little and sell it privately. I think I will call her this weekend and see if she still has it.

dont sell it to a dealer, sell it privately.....dealers suck, they'll rip you off

woot! I just got paid and have enough money to buy it if I really want to. maybe I can take a look at it on Saturday and see if it is in good shape. wish me luck. I just hope its a manual.

I have been thinking about it all day and I am pretty sure I am going to buy it as a project car. If it is an auto, I will just buy it and resell it after I fix the bumper. hopefully I can get a look at it sometime this weekend. my girlfriend thinks its a good idea for a project car. I love her.
