Tire Rotation
I want to start rotating my tires every 5,000 miles. I'm now at 14,000 and about to hit 15,000.
Please let me know if these are the right procedures. Thanks.
1. Put the car on 4 jack stands.
2. Take off all 4 tires.
3. The front two are moved straight to the rear.
4. The rear two switch sides and are moved to the front.
I'm just worried that I might mess up putting the car on the jack stands and have my car crash to the ground while the tires are off.

From what I recall it used to be front to back and back to front. Since better tires have come out you rotate them in an X pattern.. Left Rear goes to front right, right rear goes to front left, etc... I may be wrong though
YOU HAVE TO MAKE SURE YOU DONT HAVE DIRECTIONAL TIRES... IF YOU LOOK ON THA SIDE WALL OF YOUR TIRE IT SHOULD HAVE AN ARROW POINTING WHICH WAY YOUR TIRE SHOULD SPIN...I ROTATE MY TIRES EVERY TIME I CHANGE MY OIL (3,000 MILES) AND ONLY LIFT ONE SIDE OF MY CAR AT A TIME... I JACK UP ONE SIDE FIRST AND BRING (LET SAY TA RITE SIDE) THA TIRE O THA REAR RITE TOTHA FRONT RITE AND THA FRONT RITE TO THA REAR RITE... THENI DO THA SAME FOR THA OTHER SIDE
I just did mine last weekend. Front-to-back, then criss-cross the rear's up to the front. I had a hard time putting my jackstands under the Civic, so I took out the spare tire and used that. I loosened all the lug nuts and then took off one tire at a time and used the spare as a fifth tire. That was much easier for me.
If you have your stock tires, then they are non-directional. Your instructions are for non-directional tires and therefore they are correct of you still have stock tires. Look at your manual, it tells you how to rotate directional and non-directional tires.
Just know that our stock tires are non-dirctional and then look at the manual.
