You could try the usual places. Dealers, local newspapers, look on the internet for you location. A good used bike would cost around 6-8 Gs. What model/make/year are you looking for?

try otdcyclesports.com. their prices are out the door prices. I don't know what kind of experience you have with riding bikes, but if you have little to none, i'd start out with something small. Trust me, it'll be more than enough power.

Where are you from? There should be some local bike shops in your area you can check out.

btw... depending on how old the bike is... they don't depreciate in value that much.

it looks crazy

...for a first bike, a good 600cc bike is good enough, but the busa is a beast, but wit this prices, its hard to let go of a busa as a first bike...just my $.02

I don't know if i'd say a 600cc bike is good for a first bike. Maybe a 250cc but definitely not a busa. Someone with no riding experience would kill themself on one of those things. Just remember, the two types of riders, "ones that have gone down and those that'll go down". i've been down before, and it wasn't fun.

definitely im wit u, a busa for a first bike; ur looking at a first class ticket to the E.R., but a 250cc is quite laggish to me...a 400-600cc bikes are good but not punching it...i can hardly find bikes around 400, i would prefer that....

okay, maybe a 400. but i've seen too many guys get hurt cus they were told a 600 was a good beginner bike. Granted they were idiots that watched torque and biker boyz too much and looped their bikes trying to wheelie. 600's have a lot of power. unless you ride on a track or illegally on the road, you won't even come close to pushing a 600 to it's limits.

I sell Honda and Suzuki motorcycles for a living and there is nothing wrong with getting a 600 or bigger for the first bike. One of the first bikes I ever rode out on the street was an '02 VTX1800. You can ride any bike as long as you aren't stupid about it and try to show off (atleast until you are used to it). We actually have an '02 CBR600F4i that used. It's only got like 3K miles on it and I think we are asking $5200.

I emailed the one selling a busa for $2700

"So is this a scam or is the busa stolen? C'mon people aren't stupid."

It's not just about not being stupid and trying to show off. If you can't control the power and rip the throttle open and loop the bike, that's your ***. I'm not saying everyone should start on a small bike. Just a lot of people don't know what they're getting into when getting a 600 or bigger for a first bike.

Start trolling local bike boards in areas around you looking for people who are selling and getting to know people, that way you know some of the history behind the bikes at least, thats if you have time. Best time to buy is right before winter hits, worst time is in the spring, where a lot of people are shopping for new bikes. Dealerships tend to mark up quite a bit, private sale can be a bit better. Bikes don't depreciate near as much as cars do.

And whatever you do...get a Honda I love my CBR to bits..
