4-2-1 is the best for the everyday driver, 4-1 is best for track racers. the difference between two piece and one piece is price and performance. one piece is a little more expensive but will perform slightly better.

oh yeah, explanation . . . 4-2-1 means that the header goes from four pipes (for the four cylinders) and reduces to 2 pipes, and then reduces to one, the exhaust pipe. 4-1 means that it just reduces from four to one, there is no middle two. one piece means that the entire header unit is one piece, two piece means that the header is split right after the reduction from four to two, and this makes for easier installation but also allows for gas escape through the gasket if not installed properly.

sorry dave, that's not accurate at all. DC Sports has the 4-1 and both one piece and two piece 4-2-1 out. check your sources, and check the parts section of this site first off. if that doesn't convince you, then check the DC sports we page. the only thing they don't have out is all the stainless headers, they're only available in ceramic coated right now.

I agree with Dave, there is only a 4-1 i-piece shorty header for out cars. I have it and thats the only one DC makes. We can't use a 2 piece header because our downpipe is welded to the cat, you would have to do some custom work, or get the HP or APC header that is not carb legal.

if you have LX, that's the only one available, but if you have EX, then all the others that i mentioned are all out. having an LX creates a lot of problems with the header, because as you said the cat is welded to the downpipe. i'm sorry that i didn't realize you guys had LXs.
