Raced a GSR tonight..
So me and my girlfiend are getting ready to rent a movie, and im at this light and i hear an exhaust reving and its coming onthe right of me. So it pulls up looks at me and we started reving at each other waiting for the light. Turns out my girlfriend knew the guy its her sisters boyfriends friend. But anyway we both go at the light i thought i was going to win at first b/c i had him in 1st and 2nd gear by about 1/2 car know lie either, then when i shifted to third he buzzed off real quick like he hit nitrous or something i was like damn. So we pulll up at the next light and i was talking to him he said he had intake header and exhaust . All i have is an intake and custom exhaust . So he ask if i want to run for 50 bucks i was like no. He just smoked me after 2nd i wasnt gonna race him for money. But wed di go at it again for fun and the same thing happedned i had him 1 to 2nd like nothing then he just burned past me. We then pulled over and looked at each others cars then left it was pretty fun thanks for listening fellas
yea dude gs-r's have like 170 hp theyd kick 7thgencivic's aomost the whole race... but w/ some bigger mod's we could beat some of them out there. i hear JUN's products now have their civic 170 hp? is this right?
true, you must have pretty good reation time. reminds me of the integra type r in "best motoring volume 1". i can't remember what it was racing (6 cyl nissan?) but it was smoked off the line but when it was in third the type r flew by the other car.
Arlight, here we go:

It looks much like the super-charged one in the new Honda Tuning magazine. (Except his needs to be washed and probably waxed.) He's got half of the signals blue, and the other half of them white, clicking on at different times. The headlights are blue. Inside he's got racing pedals, and one of those things that light up when it's time to shift at a certain RPM. (What are those called?) It's really kew. The previous owner cut the shifter.
Under the hood he's got some spark plugs, an AEM CAI, and DC Sports headers. Last time I hear, I think he only got a few HP out of it but that was a while ago. He plans to shave the door handles - or make the key entry on the doorhandles shockable (before shaving the handles but he thinks it's a bad idea because what if some kid plays around with a key and tries to use it on his door? FUNNY!) ... tint the windows, AND PAINT IT BLACK. (Meaning I can have my white Type R with the spoiler he has.) Originally a salvaged car he got not too long ago, but in good shape. It's a 97.

a GSR with I/H/E can walk right past a stock prelude. Plus it is something about the VTEC in those tegs. The GSR has the loudest VTEC and responds better to mods than any honda/acura out there. 3rd gear pull.... just like my boss's prelude. sure wish i had one

Personally, I love the sound of the engine under the hood of this car. (It's what made me start liking cars in the first place, believe it or not! Instead of getting a Type R... maybe I should get a GSR, hehehe! Nah...) 3rd gear in his car has pull like a **** but I couldn't get over hearing the engine in 2nd gear while cruising the busy streets on the right side of rush hour traffic. (Never had a need to get into 3rd gear.) GSRs are very nice.
My friend and I raced. I had a stock lx and he had a gs with catback and ram air. The same thing happened to me. He started beating me in 2nd going into 3rd but it stayed kind of even. He wasn't that far ahead of me, it was like a car length.

so the guy kicked your *** then asked if you wanted to run again for 50 bucks? was he smoking crack at that time?
my friend's brother has a GSR and he woops up at the local street races. I have no idea what he has in it, but he has a really good reputation for winning. He lives next to my girlfriend so I should check it out sometime.

<< Ugh... an Integ with no VTEC is like an old man with no wisdom. >>
What about an LS? It doesn't have VTEC, but it's a quick car... >>
I enjoy my Civic EX more than the LS/GS to tell the truth. It just doesn't have that KICK the GS-R has when I drove it around. No VTEC... no fun.
I seriously want an Integ for myself but I wouldn't take an GS/LS despite the fact that is can be fixed up... I'd just personally rather have something already fast and build up on it. It's just not sporty enough for me... I've even raced one in my Civic and beat it. If there's a car with potential to be fixed up that isn't really "fast" to my expections...
It would be my Civic... (but of course, I can't really do anything now! But I do know what I want.)
