Gmc Vs Civic 01
I imagine our cars leaving them... but no... why do you ask? Sounds like a silly race... but I don't think i'd race anything bigger than me (I raced a van once and yeah... no quarter).
I won't call it a race, but I once floored it, making my nice deep intake sound right off a light, and some grandpa in his brand new cady just left me in his dust, and it was almost like he wasn't trying either.
just thought I'd share

All Cadillacs are at least 200HP... they're gonna accel fast naturally... the smaller the Caddy, the worse chance you have beating one off the line, and in a Civic, you don't have much of a chance... but I don't think they could go over 100MPH. The one my mom has (Deville) is a 4.6 liter V8... I wouldn't go over 80MPH in that car cuz it'll start pissing gas, and after 86, it has a hard time picking up speed.
Their gas pedals are HELLA sensetive... but if you kept on going, you would have evenutally caught up. #s aren't everything especially if you have a 5-speed, you'd easily win in a Civic. Some luxory cars just aren't worth going against unless they have like 275-300HP cuz I went against some Chrysler car one night that was equivalent in power of my mom's 200HP... let's just say, that kind of car you should not be speeding in or trying to race - unless you're seriously gonna push more horses out of it! With a V8? Sh't... betta watch yo back fo' da Cadillac!
I don't know....like I have made some trucks really mad a few times...like a 2 lanner at a light that connects into a merge onto a 80km/h road...and well I gunned it and he didn't think I would and I cut him off.....like when we both hit that 80km/h road at like 110....he just kills by me....it's sad...haha...but I got him mad so I'm like
dumb trucks.....
BTW: Do you think we can take that new Matrix Toyota ???

Any of the older pre 96 trucks we can beat in a heartbeat. Maybe even some of the newer ones that don't have the 6 or 8.1 liters in them. For the Caddies...let's just say the Northstar is a baddddddd a$$ engine. 4.6L 300 hp. Don't try it with a STS. Same with the Maxima, just bow your head gracefully. At work we have both the Pre-96 and 2001 2500HD w/ 6L. Older 350's only had 235Hp and are dogs in drags. High 16's 17's 1/4 mile. Our 2500HD's w/ 6L have 300HP and can run like mad. Most trucks are geared for pulling so they will be slow off the start but of course have a better top end and will get you if you are running a longer distance. These are for stock engines though for trucks.
I raced my friends GMC Silverado C2500... He smoked me.....
I had a 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.2 V8 prior to my civic, and that thing smoked my ladies 2k1 LX civic.... if that helps any.

at least when theyre beating you remember that
a) your car will last longer
b) your car has a better resale %
c) you're still getting 3 times their gas mileage
d) they suck

We can't take escalades or navigators off the line, but on the expressway, we're gone!!!
The reason that we can not beat some of the p/u are because they are gearded so low to be abel to haul heavy loads.
3.73:1 4.10:1 . When they are empyt, they are quick off of the line. Like my truck. 1995 Chevy Z-71 on 44's and I run a 15.38 in a quarter with 4.56:1 gears and no nos.

DaKine - I've raced almost every kind of truck out there, I live in a truck city here. They don't take much to beat, they'll always get you off the line but once you're into 2nd or 3rd you'll pass them. That is if you get a good start. If you don't, you're screwed. I've beaten a Ford F350 powerstroke(my best race yet), tons of Z71 and tons of dodge rams. They have the torque but definitly are not aerodynamic! All I have to do is wash my car and every truck out there revs at me. It's actually quite fun!
