HAHA! Free? Freedom is a word tossed around in America to keep you thinking that you can only live like this here.
Guess what, other countries can give you the same freedom. Europe is a beautiful place.
American "freedom" is an exaggeration. Everyone has free will. Its just that some places punish for certian behaviors differently.

This whole Iraq thing is perfect. A nation of everyone trained to say that the reason we are fighting is for freedom. Ask any why we are in Iraq and every single one will say for freedom. But ask them why, and no one is 100% sure. This war is Bush Jr's stupid power trip that finishes what his stupid dad could not finish.
In my opinion, the US isnt worth fighting for when we go around and start a war when the whole thing could have been solved with a $500,000 assassin and a few bullets. Sure we gave them a "free" society, but so far the war as a whole has drawn incredible lines between citizens.

ok let me explain...
I am in college and I am not leaving college to go to Europe with less than $10,000 and no college degree. I will work a year or two and then try to move out. Good thing computer engineers are very useful in almost every industry and every facet of technology. So yes I understand why you say stfu, but I just thought I would explain why I haven't put my money where my mouth is so to speak. Right now to move out of the US would be the dumbest thing I could do.

very well put. and thank you for not being as immature as I was! That wasn't a very nice thing to say, on my part.

I do agree with you for the most part though. I just can't imagine living anywhere else. by the way, which other countries can offer the same freedoms?

LOL. I plan on moving to england or italy. This summer I am probably going to force myself to learn italian. My girlfriend and I are both starting to learn italian as soon as classes end this semester.
We have agreed that after 1 month of the summer we will only speak italian in our apartment. No exceptions. Even if we don't talk to eachother at all, or go out in the hall for important conversations, we will immerse ourselves in the language. it will be frustrating like crazy, but I know I will learn alot faster. The more I use it, the easier it will become.

also thanks for being mature also. I repped you. I can't stand immature people anymore, so i appreciate it.

im sorry but in the middle east if you steal your hands come off. this country is easy compared to the rest of the world. i mean these guys might be all rich and **** but they have to act how the country wants them to and look like the country wants them to. its trade off. like i said, id rather be poor and free and alive. being from another country i can really say that this IS the best place on earth. nothing anyone can say can change my mind. and yes, i know about holland and the netherlands...

See part of the reason I want to move to europe is because the places there I have been, two poorer countries (Romania and Hungary), were amazing.
The people in Hungary and Romania are very nice. I gave them alot of respect and got it right back. Businesses are great there, with great care about customers. And the food... oh the food.
I just liked the atmosphere of Europe so much more than America. Here we have so many stupid laws which create the problems they are specifially against.
Like the 21 to drink law. How many alcoholics are in America? Alot right? How many in countries where there is no age on buying alcohol? Almost none if not none. People don't care about alcohol. its an everyday part of life and thus its not widely abused.

I am not going to write a 200 page essay to support myself, majinB. But I do hope you can see where I stand, and where I would go with this reply if I had more space.

I will comment on the middle east really quick though. I wouldn't want to specifically live there, but thats where alot of money is right now. So let them be happy. Let them live like they are. They are doing the same thing any normal businessman would do. I am not jealous of them, but unlike most Americans I do not hate them either. Sure its alot of our money they have because of oil, but they were in the right place at the right time. Just like I don't dislike Bill Gates like everyone else does. I respect his timing, but I hate windows, and I am not jealous. Because I am not jealous, I can be open minded enough to like him as a person.

more about this thread: This guy drives a bently continental gt around my town all the time. and the first time i saw it I was like wow thats cool. But the more i see it the less it impresses me. i know what the car can do, and the quality of the car, but its really a boring car for the price range!

thanks. My family had alot of Italians in it, so I have always been interested in moving there. The only hard part of moving to another continent is getting that far away from such a close family I am part of.
And as for my woman, she isnt bad. She doesnt have 99% of the 'bad' traits common in women like nagging and bad cooking. Shes a keeper thats for sure. its amazing that I found her in 7th grade too.

you are an idiot. stop judging the whole middle east based on a handful of extreme idiots who will stop at nothing to get their way. not everyone in the middle east is a terrorist. a LOT of the people there are good people, who work just as hard as everyone else and want to live in peace just like everyone else.

its not a fault of theirs that they are sitting on all that oil. and dont blame them for trying to capitalize on it, since its the only thing they can use to their advantage, being in a DESERT. if america had all that oil you best believe we would be just as greedy with it, if not more, than the middle eastern countries who control the oil now.

not arguing with you, i actually agree in many respects. but i was born in europe and lived there for the first half (well, getting to a 1/3 now) of my life, so im kind of biased.

however, dont think that europe doesnt have its negatives either. im sure there are just as many "dumb" laws as there are over here. maybe not about drinking or whatever, but every place has its weird nuances.

for instance, im jewish, and some people in europe are not as reserved to let it be known that they dont like jews. so whereas here you can wear a star of david or whatever and no one will say a word, over there it could result in an altercation. if you go to a soccer game you will see a lot of racial prejudice and even worse. some things are scary.

so im just saying its not all peaches and cream. some things over here are better, some things over there are better. culturally speaking, from the way normal people interract with eachother on a daily basis, and the general pace of life, i would say i prefer the european way.

ok...sorry for the hijack. lol

finally someone sensible! I agree with you. A lot of people think that the States is the only place you can get "freedom". First of all, I don't know the definition of "freedom" that most people talk about.
I was born in UAE and i can tell you that there's way more freedom that North Americans can even dream of. Freedom in the sense that there are no restrictions on you. There's stuff there that us living in north america have never seen and will never even be able pronounce. There are no taxes there, no laws, hardly any crime. To me, living in a place like that would make me feel free. I'm planning on moving back once i get my CA designation.

I was going to keep my mouth shut about your anti-american bullshit, but you can't just make wild assumptions with no factual basis. Saying alcoholism is an issue only affecting Americans is like saying AIDs only affects Africans living in the Congo.

LOL
It was a half joke man, I hate that song soooo lame. I know many places in the world today allow for the freedoms than we enjoy in America, but we started, or at least we were a MAJOR influence.
I have a deep respect of the Constitution, and a total lack of respect for the politicians of today. Even though the framers left our rights for anybody who was not a white man, it was a start to at least aknowledge that humans should be able to do what they want.

I have respect for the our flag and the United States. I look at the flag and think of all of the people who have fought and strived toward a free world. You can also look at that flag and think of all the people whos freedoms were taken away because of the U.S., we have committed shameful acts, but I am not ready to take off my colors and move.

As for politicians, we have no idea what they are up to, we can only speculate, politics is like crime. It is based on breaking the rules, or at least doing what ever you can to take power. Politicians use any means to control the masses. Money controls the politicians. That is why the poor get **** on. Look at our cities, that is why we have so much crime, people think well the government could careless about us, so lets care for ourselves, even if we have to sell crack. I think the main problem with the US is that we should have a rehabilitation program for criminals after we punish them, but that would cost a lot of money.

We live in a shitty world, you can move away from the US, but you are disillusioned if you believe that other countries do not have the same problems as us. When people live free we treat each other like crap, at least there will be a good percentage of people who do. There will always be those who desire to be rich and above others, it is in our DNA.

I know that I will always be an American and love/hate my country.

you are 100% right. And being from America means that alot of people will automatically not like me. But I don't act like an american usually. Whenever I go out with friends of family I am usually the one in the group burying their head in embarassment for whatever the other people have said or done .

Hey man I did not mean to come off like saying we are the only place with alcoholism. I was just saying that with a law prohibiting alcohol up to some age, it becomes more appealing to the young, impressionable, immature people, and thus more people get addicted or dependant on it. Thats all. It can happen anywhere, but in America children are brought up in a society that puts huge amount of focus on alcohol. instead of just accepting it, children want it. so when they can get it as a teenager they abuse it cause its been something so special and previously unobtainable. at least thats the case for most teens who drink, despite what excuse they give.
see my point?

When I see an American flag I think "All those wonderful heroic people died to create and protect this country, and now all we can do is destroy it. It's a shame."

You are using stereo types, so you are like the people who will not like you. "I do not usually act like an american", what does that mean?
I know that you mean you try not to be ignnorant, but all Americans are not ignorant pigs. Some are, some are not. Just like people, some are quite low and have not class or character. That is there choice and you can not do anything about that.

If people are saying things that go against logic or shame you should speak up, do not bottle it up or keep it in. Or do not let it get to you, those are not your thoughts or your views. I do see where you are coming from when I see people acting in certain ways, like the neo fashists on the history channel it shames me that I am even a human but I get over it, I realize that those people must be very troubled.

Why live in the shame of others, why not make what good you can and become an example of a real American, better yet a real person, who is logical, intelligent, responsible and secure?
Everybody has the capability to live a positive life it is a choice. That is one reason why we are all equal.

I understand where you are coming from I used to say that when I turned 18 I was going to move to europe, but I have changed. I see things here in America that are amazing, there are good people here and I know I can be too.

I just can't respect alot of people anymore. Because I work hard at everything I do, and I do not see that with most people I see. I hate how lazy most people are. And I can't stand the way this country is getting. America right now is so confused and disorganized
Look at how stupid the mayor of New Orleans is. I don't want to live in a country where idiots like that make important descisions that affect me. I don't vote anymore cause its like chosing between bad and worse.

And the leader of america is being openly called stupid and a racist by alot of people every day, even in the media. Under that kind of leadership, nothing good can happen.

I am making a new thread for this, so we can stop hijaking ok?

its not a fault of theirs that they are sitting on all that oil. and dont blame them for trying to capitalize on it, since its the only thing they can use to their advantage, being in a DESERT. if america had all that oil you best believe we would be just as greedy with it, if not more, than the middle eastern countries who control the oil now.
i case you didn't know, IM NOT JUDGING and im the idiot?
i didn't say everyone in the middle east is a terrorist. i was just saying that its prevelant there. yoshie is middle eastern. step dad is muslim. i think i know the ways of those people enough. yea all those people want to live in peace right? ok remember what happened in vietnam? in the daytime everyone was all "america good" and at night they were killing the soldiers. wtf do you think these people are doing?
if you think its not true your in denial

The BMWs and the mercedes are all just nice cars.

If you want an aston like that, ramcosca, you can get one really cheap; less than a new focus cheap. (in england)

That SLK GTR and the F40 and F50, though. Those are super cars! Those are worth grooling over.
And the RR's aren't bad either, if thats what you like.
