Worn Clutch?

I don't think anyone has asked this before but how do you know when your clutch is worn out? I learned how to drive stick with this car so that clutch went through some wear and tear. I just wanna know what signs to look for..

You'll most likely know it when its going. It will start to slip. When you let off the clutch it will take the gear a little longer for it to completely grab. You should be ok for awhile, though. The clutch I learned how to drive on lasted well over 100,000 miles.

the clutch i learned to drive on in my 88 dodge omni had 50,000 miles on it when i started to learn, and had a very high grabbing point. after another 26,000 miles it had a little higher grabbing point, but still wasnt slipping. unless you were extremely hard on it, yours will last for a while yet. and youll feel problems with it when you need to replace it

test #1 - put the parking brake on, start car, stand the motor up to about 3000-4000 rpms, and dump the clutch. If it dies right there, yay..... if it stays alive for a sec, the clutch is going

test #2 - Shift from 1st to 2nd at about 5000rpms, stay on the gas, and dump into second... if theres a hard thud, clutch is good.... if the engine speed comes down gradually, clutch is shot

my gf just cooked my clutch this past weekend, she held it at about 6000rpms right at the engagement point for like 10 seconds ( I WAS SCREAMING NOOOOOO).... the clutch was smokin, but when it cooled and after i killed her (j/k or am i?) it seems fine, grabs fine. I'll swap it out at first sign of trouble
