Need Help ASAP!

Okay,

I went to the dealership where I brought my car today for a minor maintence (oil change, filter, rotate tires, etc...). Also, told them to check on a creaking noise that I have when I turn left. After getting the car back I took a quick look over the body to see if they dented or scracted anything. Went home and parked my car in my driveway. Was about to go get diinner and when I was about to open the trunk to take out my sweater I noticed 2 circular scratches (deep) in the lower part of my rear bumper. Seeing this I relooked over the car and noticed that the right side of the bumper now has several light scratches. The dealer looked at my car before performing service and there was no scratches (especially deep ones). In addition, after taking my car I went straight home to my driveway so the circlular scratches are from them. What should I do??? I immediately called the dealership after seeing the scratches and they told me to see them in the morning tomorrow to see what I think they did. Who should I see and what should I do tomorrow morning? I am so pissed off right now. Will post pictures once I am get my camera from school.

I hope the person that scratched up your car 'fesses up. It was probably one of the people that drives the cars from place to place (most likely a young teen)

try to show them proof that it wasn't scratched before you gave it to them, or just hope someone confesses.

Thanks for the reply. I have calm down alittle. Going to lookover the car in the morning again to make sure I did not miss anything. The circular scratch looks like they bumped into another car's license (the screw area). I will talk to the service manager and try to be calm as possible. Hopefully they will take care of it. Only proof I have is that the service guy that I first met took a look at it and did mark down any damage, he was even suprised at my low miles (6500 miles only; car is 15 months old). Any other advice from members of this board; would be useful before I go in the morning.

Well, woke up this morning and gave the car a look over...saw a few more minor scratches on the lower right bumper, but they are insignificant, easily taken off with Scratch-X/Wax.

Took the car to the dealer and waited for someone to help. Luckily for me the service manager comes out and talks to me. I told him that I came in yesterday for minor maintence and for a warranty repair (creaking sound when turning left, see my thread: http://www.7thgencivic.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=236107) and that I noticed the circular scratches on my bumper when I got home that night. He took a look and told me that it is something small and that there will be no problem for them to take care of it for me. He even said that it looks someone bumped into the license holder of another car. Also, since the warranty repair did not solve my problem he said they will try to take care of that too. However, I have to wait till Tuesday when the service advisor that helped me yesterday returns from vacation.

So hopefully the service manager keeps his word on this. He put in an appointment for me on Tuesday morning at 7:30 AM. But I must say he was very polite and did not make a big deal about it.

I will post pictures later when I get my camera.

The firs 2 oil changes i took it to the dealer both times they had to send it to the body shop for scratching my front bumper. but i looked over the car before i drove it of the lot. that way they couldn't give me any ****. i even told them i didnt want no touchup paint i wanted it done right so they had to give me a free rental wile they had to repaint the entire bumper. i hope it works out for you, since you had already taken the car home they might say you did it

The guy prolly wont confess though. I know i wouldn't lol But you have to assume the worst at this point as you took your car home before noticing the scratches. Your best bet is putting on your angry face and bitching the hell out of them. If it doesnt work out in your favor, just give all of us their mailing adress and ill for sure spam them with hate mail. =D

Thanks guys for the support/advice. I did take a quick look over the car for obvious dents/scratches after they gave it back to me. I did not see the circular scratches till I got home because the lower part of the car was wet (they washed it for me and my paint is magnesium metallic) and the scratch is on the lower part of the bumper.

Well, hopefully the service advisor on Tuesday will be as nice as the service manager...but as long as I got the service manager's word I think I will be okay...if not I will bitch to them and post their mailing address.

P.S. Can anyone one check the 'creaking left turn' ( http://www.7thgencivic.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=236107 ) for me so that I can confirm it is not a 'normal' thing? Thank you all in advance!

Well can't help ya on that creaking sound. My uncle has a 03 ex and i have 01 lx, i tried on both cars and nothin. What you should do is check all the steering arms and ball joints, never really looked under there but we might have grease nipples where you can lube em up? That is, if the Honda guys didn't do that already. If not then... hrm *ponders with you*

Hey 2k1_Stockie,

I really appreciate the help. Not sure if they lube the steering wheel/ball joints, hopefully after I replicate the problem to them they will know what to do. Will update once I find out tomorrow morning.

if they dont do anything about it, take it back in a months time and claim it back on warranty. thats pretty much what i did, but with scratches on the interior of my car, i just said that the plastic trimming was poor quality and that it was plastic which scratched far too easily and that when you paid for you car, you wanted a non defunct one, and 99% of the time, you will get what you want done because when you think about it, the service manager wants to keep his customers happy and at the same time the defunct parts are not going out of his pocket. Also it gives techies something to do and in the end everyone wins No joke one of my friends who is a techie for an audi dealership said that a guy in a s4 came in with a crack on his front bumper/lip (which was clearly from hitting a curb or something) but claimed that it was a bad quality bumper and got it back for free on warranty

thats why i love warranty so much haha

Well, took in the car today and they did fix the scratch. They figured out that the creaking noise is due to a bad weld around my fenderwell. So they told me they have to order parts and fix the weld??? I am so confused what craftsmanship is honda coming to?

So my question is what should I do now? Should I let them take apart the car and reweld the fenderwell area? The service advisor said this is only to fix the noise and that it is not cruical to the car...anyone have any advice? Well, I will call the service advisor back and ask for more details before they tear my car apart...and speaking of tearing apart, I guess they had to remove my front bumper to get to the fender area...they did a bad job of putting it back together. I had to push the black rubber part of the wheel well back into the front bumper.

Well, I brought the car in on Monday to the dealer to fix the creaking sound which they diagosed as coming from a bad weld in the fenderwell area. It has been 4 days and they are still not done with the car. The service advisor told me that it is more complicated then they thought...they have to fix welds around the firewall. My question is, what should I do now? I am just waiting for them to finish up, but it seems like they are taking the car apart and trying to fiugre out what welds are bad. Should I file a statement with America Honda just in case they cannot fix this and I have to go back again?
