They finally sold off their 1/3 ownership, its been a pit since they invested in it, I wonder if this will signal a new direction for Mitsubishi or not int he form of cost cutting measures, decreased model selection or both?

For a whle, DCX's MB and Mitsu were the two major money pits... so DCX had to drop one of them... Which one do you think is more popular?
Mitsu is actually very popular overseas. I think they would do a lot better if they brought the Pajero Evolution over here because we all know that people that can afford to drive an SUV want one that is sporty and capable even if they won't bring it off-road.

the only thing mitsu has going for them here is the evo. The rest of their cars don't sell. They have a flagship car and that's it...it won't survive long if they don't change their act.

Aside from the Evo, Mitsu is hurting really bad, both here and overseas. Mitsubishi lost *a lot* of Japanese trust after a recall fiasco. They're still reeling from that. Plus you have an ugly sedan lineup (Lancer, Gallant... and Diamonte?) an Eclipse with a goofy front end, and SUVs that don't go on radar.
Scratching my head at how they thought that Gallant would sell--I swear it's one of the ugliest sedans on the road.

My SL65 rim, because a rim is all I can afford

That was a merger, wasn't it? That means they are one and the same, they can't split. At least that's what I though. But yeah, I've noticed benz's going down little by little.

well i just got laid off from mitsu b/c the dealership that i worked for went under, i was a mechanic, sucks to be on unemployment. about that truck same drive train and platform as dakota/durango, but only shared two body panels and i believe the glass from the dakota, systems are very much the same but you can't use a mitsu scan tool on a dodge and can't use a dodge scan tool on a mitsu, the tools are vintelligent. mitsu also only makes one low class truck if you want the lower class vehicle you'll have to buy a dodge your better off that way. but if you want a better warranty then you buy the mitsu version because it has a way better warranty even thought the two vehicles are basically the same. and yes their sales suck thats why we went under!
the original comment i was making isnt about the difference between the 2 trucks. I was trying to make the point that after they got some great buzz over a new car they no longer have the inside track to the engineers, designers or parts for the truck.
