Neo or anyone else....

Just outa curiosity, I have something to contribute to the "VTEC or VTEC-E" debate.... I was browsing the 2002 Civic brochure and it's a lil dif from the 2001 one.... the 2001 one says both the HX and EX are VTEC-E, but well, as you can see here, it's changed... Real change? Or(probably) just another Honda "name game"?

I'm pretty sure the difference is in the transmission gear ratio.

No difference in gearing ratio nor engine spec, according to Honda Tuning, the diff in 02 model is limited to trim pieces and suspension

I can vouch for a difference between the trannys between an HX and an LX.... (yes i know the LX in not a VTEC)... I can run out my gears a lot longer than my ladies LX.... My HX feels faster... curious if it's just me though.

maybe its just you. Cuz VTEC-E Means economy. 3 valve are working until the Vtec kicks in, thats the only time it uses all 4 valve. Unlike like non-Vtec 4 valve all the way, think about that

from what i read, VTEC-E is exactly the same as SOHC VTEC, the only real VTEC-E in the 7th gens is the VTEC-E Lean-Burn in the HX
