those are so called fake HID, they have a blue tint or white or purple tint to them, depends on the company that makes them or the model, personally, i do not think they look like real HID, they have different light streaks and glares, HID is also hella brighter, and usually, the fake HID's color wears off after a few months, and they tend to get the light hosunbg really hot too
oh yeah, there is a new system out called the cat zeta sytem (i think) that is supposed to rapidly up your 12v lights to 17v and back, creating the illusion of an HID system. It is supposed to only decrease bulb life by 10-20%.

HID is actually a module that you hook up to your lights so the bulbs burn even brighter and clearer than the can on normal 12v systems. Phillpis and Eagle HID kits cost 400-700 bucks
I looked at what you were talking about, and it says "100w". the wattage is too high. my friend and i both bought very similar imitation HID lights at 100w and after a month his burst in the housing and put a lovely brown burn mark around the chrome. it got to hot. luckily i hadn't had mine as long so i took them out. i just wouldn't try it if i were you. it might be some other factor at play... but i won't take that chance... if you do, good luck.

Looks like you guys need an input of some knowledge here. There is a lot of garbage being said in this thread by ppl who don't know WTF they are talking about. First of all, HID is not a system you hook up to your bulbs to make them brighter. It is a completely different system altogether. HID uses a ballast to charge HID-specific xenon bulbs that have electrdes and no filament. The large amount of electicity produces an arc inside the bulb between the electodes. As far as fake HID H4 halogen bulbs go, those look pretty Fock!ng chep to me. What do you really expect for $15, HIDs? I love how that guy ripped off the 'before and after' pictures of a real HID system from the philips site, that's pretty reputable (sarcastic). That 50 percent brighter statement is bullsh*t. If you want quality H4s that look close to HID, splurge for some PIAAs.
I installed those lights in my friends 2k2 sedan and they look alright. But I wouldn't recommend them, the wattage is a little high. As for Nokyas, I am never getting them again. Went through two sets in like 3 months. They are made like crap!!
It has also been proven that these so-called HID bulbs actually decrease your visibility. There is a thread somewhere in this forum with a link to a page with some actual numbers and stats. If you just want to have bluish lights, then get em. If you want HID quality, then spend the money and get a real HID system. Whenever you see lights on eBay or any other shop that say HID or something to that effect, ignore them and know that they are full of it...
