Should I have won this race??

I was on my way to class today and me and a 240SX (not sure what year) pulled up to a red light and just as we did it turned green and we both took off (he took off like .5 seconds before me) and he was ahead of me all through first and through 2nd, but on the higher end of 3rd gear, I started pulling on him. I don't know if he slowed down, (that's why I ask if I should have won). He had intake, exhaust, and had a venom sticker on his rear quarter panel (also heard his idle - reaaallly rough). Don't think he sprayed though. His car was early 90s, mine is a 02 LX auto on stock wheels/tires, and all I have done is intake.

Maybe he just slowed down. It was broad daylight and we got up to about 80 on the street.

I'm pretty sure he didn't spray. Oh, and by the way, I was just trying to remember, and I realized he had to slow down cause a truck and a van both decided to jump in front of us and make turns, I even had to jump in front of the guy and slam on the brakes to avoid hitting the van. It was pretty hectic, kinda like that one movie about racing....

not as bad as the ferrari doing circles around me on the freeway. it happened on my way to work, i was like, wow, this is fun, even though i was looking like a loser to him, it was neat. but yeah, that guy probably should have won. i don't think his mods made the difference either.
