U WONT BELIEVE ME!!!

I know that everyone has not heard from me in a long time! that is becasue i have been so busy with my car, and the lemon law! but here is the final verdict!! Let me know what you think!

*so i went to arbitration with the better business bureau(BBB) today for a hearing with American Honda. Both parties walk in agreeing to either lose, win or draw to any monies for the vehicle price. The Price we were arbitrating on was $19,800.00, to make a long story short, we won the arbitration, and Honda now has to cut me a check for that amount I am dropping the car off shortly at the dealership, and they dont recoup anything on my car note, because they walked into the hearing willing to lose or win the monies we were fighting for. Therefore i made 5,800.00 off my car, because i only put down $14,000.00* (JETTA HERE I COME!!!) so now my payement on the jetta will be less than my payment on the honda and it is a $6,000.00 more car!! I guess god is good to those who have waited and been treated bad! I would never buy another honda product as long as i live, not because the product is bad but because the customer service is despicable!

There is nothing I hate more than Ignorant people! Everyone has their opinion, getting stuck with the jetta is better than what my honda has thrown at me! A lot of people in here hate! And have single track minds!

just the fact that it cost a WHOLE lot to fix out of my pocket really burns me up well down the road. right now it runs very nicely but its got that whistling sound like its got a supercharger or turbo in it......
i love my civic.....i only throw in 20 bucks a week and it runs mon-sun on me

I'm happy for you with the out come, but it is common knowledge that VW still has quality problems. I've owned German vehichles in the past and have never been more happy than the day I sold them. Unfortuately Honda makes a lemon once in a while, but there are far less Honda Lemons on the road than other makes. You probably would have been better off taking the the $6000 you made from the arbitration and turned around and put it down on another Civic (highly unlikely that the same person would get another lemon). Just think you might have been able to pay a new Civic off in two years instead of five years and with all the $$ you'd be saving on general VW mantainence/repairs you'd be money ahead. But what do I know I'm just an old fart. Good Luck with the VW. HONDA RULES!

congrats on the win, but a jetta? oy, if you're going to get a VW, you should get a golf 1.8t, the jetta is simply a VW accord and has some excess weight/understeer that you dont need to deal with

of course i wouldn't buy either, i'd get an impreza, or put the down payment towards an rsx-s or gt-s

VW's are not exactly trouble-free cars either, and yes, cost of ownership is much higher with VW's. There are also several sites out there that are dedicated to VW's problems and their lousy dealerships. I think VW usually comes close to last in terms of customer satisfaction with dealership experience. But hey, it's your money...

well it sucks to hear your honda buying experience wasn't pleasent... it sucks no matter what company does it to you.

Anyways, jettas are sweet lookin cars... if i'd have the same choice to make as you... I'd probably go for an Accord, Impreza, or RSX myself... but thats me and everyone's entitled to their opinions.

As for the folks who decided to put your money on his misfortune with the jetta in the future - and laugh about that... it's really sad you feel you need to do that. wishing him bad luck on yet another new car ain't nice.

Anyways OoSiLvErCiViCoO, best of luck with your jetta or whatever other car you end up with cya
