REVIEW: 2006 sedan automatic --test drive--
I really hope that Honda hasn't had to slip in quality/interior bits to be able to price it more competitively compared to other discounted cars like every single domestic out there right now and it's other import competition (most notably the Mazda3).
I'm hoping that my local dealership gets a new Civic or two in some time soon so I can take it for a spin. I miss my 7th gen. but I'm really enjoying my Mazda3 right now. My g/f has a 5th gen, I still like that car, not sure if I like it better than my 7th gen though, seems to have more pep. Seems like every consecutive Honda generation becomes more and more...bland?

I have to agree with GearBox, i drove one yesterday and got similar impressions. I'm not trying to say the 7th is better and was really open minded but the 8th didn't impress me like I thought it would. I agree the tranny in my 05 seems nicer shifing wise and the lack of visibility in the 06 is very noticiable. I'm sure it will grow on me looks wise but the functionally isn't my cup of tea. I'd take the engine though. Maybe the coupe is better ? They had 3 lx's and 1 ex at my local shop.
ya i think its just the sedan nd mayb the type of civic(ex, lx, dx wise)? i say mayb someone can test drive a coupe and see how that is with the ex trim. it might b better it might not. who knows until someone drives it.

okay first off, all the trims are exactly the same with regard to performance. Same engine, same features, everything. There are minor differences like alloys, navi, etc. As far as sedan vs coupe, most of the negatives I described still apply. The interiors are the same. The manual might be a bit quicker, but that doesn't change anything about visibility, gas pedal problem, huge dash, and more.
