no kidding. I don't feel bad at all. And I thought the 7thgen was ugly look what they come up with next. The si maybe okay, but there are things about it that don't flow well. Clear tail lens but amber front lens signal, the body shape got really weird, chrome grill just about, no way for new stereo, mutated motor (still no worthwhile power), and waaaaay overpriced. Nobody will buy that they're going straight to the rsx-s.
I spend way too much time on this website

A Civic Si shouldn't go for more than $20K fully loaded. I dont care what options it has, its still a Civic. Plus Honda needs to be competitive, garenteed the next Nissan, Toyota, and Mazda are all going to handle bettel and out perform and be priced around $20K

there's a brief article in HT this month saying the base engine is a 1.8 sohc thats lighter and quieter then the d17 and produces 140 hp. its the nonvtec version, but is the vtec version going to be 160? and the si 197? or just a vtec in the si?
There is no non-vtec version or the R18, DX, LX, and EX all have the same engine now. MSRP for the most expensive non-Si Civic is the EX-Nav 5AT coupe at $20,810. The non-Nav EX coupe w/ the 5MT is $18,260. The price increase is basically $500 across the board.
Honda has not announced MSRP of the Si yet, but have stated that it will be less than $20,000 w/out Nav. I believe that Canada will now be using the US style trim levels, dropping the SiR badge.

Just one question I have. Is the Si DOHC? If not, that would suck.

Btw I just went and looked at one here. It was a ssm auto sedan ex and it was going for 17,8. So the whole 3g;s more does not apply here. I also asked to be notified when the si hits. I asked for the price on the ex with navi he said almost the same price right around 17,9 ish.

I was talking with the the owner of parker johnston honda and he sad that the rsx and rsx type s was discontinued for 07 and that the new civic/civic si was replacing it. that to me explains the price increase rght there. He said acura is just gonna do mid and full size sedans from then on. i still dont think they will sell any at tht price. Its still just a honda.
Ooo..i dunno if anyone posted this yet, cuz i'm not reading through all the pages..=P but..the oil viscosity measuring thing that tells you when you should get your oil changed..is also featured in the TL....niiiice....
I know that in the 04 accord it kinda rearanged everything, the adapter kit included new ac controls, and stuff. It makes it look completely different.
Companies that make adapter kits are going to make some moola because of all these rediculous dashes.

its not bad, but i like the new coupe.
HOWEVER, i got a 2k1 and ive waited for about 4 years. GOOD aftermarket parts are JUST beggining to roll in. Turbo kits are available.
I don't think i would want to trade up for an 06 only to have to wait another 2+ years for some good aftermarket parts to come out.
If i was just gonna keep ti stock maybe, but eh. Im not into stock

i say, either just do a swap or turbo on your 7th gen or just save up and buy a better car. I know i'm not going to trade in my civic for another civic.

Love the steering wheel in that sedan you showed us, sure beats the strange triangle thing in the Si. People will be swapping that out I bet :P
I don't get the gauges, I don't get why they had to be split, were people confusing the speedo with the tach? I don't get why lower end trim is lit in blue and higher end is lit in red. The parking brake does look like it's placed weird, but not that bad if you think about it for MT.
I don't like the spoiler and I don't like the round gas cap, but who cares really. I'm glad the Civic is moving up in the market. More luxury features are standard on base models. Time to say goodbye to the old Civics, Honda did their research, and as Howard Hughes would say, "it's the way of the future". lol.
And with all things being equal, I'd rather take a motor that puts out nearly twice the HP. Many people aren't prepared to do a swap on a new car.

Well I got to sit in one and look at stuff. There are some cool improvements, and the seats feel nice and supportive. Gauges will take some getting used to for sure, and they don't look as good in person. Kinda purple/blue something and I couldn't see whether the dash lights even light up. Overall I'd say it looks good. Its not a civic thats for sure, but still a nifty car. When you get in, it looks like a completely different car.

also about the gauge lights, only the si will have red. The lower models coupe and sedan have purple/blue. But I agree its strange to have the tach in the middle by itself especially for an underpowered sedan.
