I have a Traffic Pro in my civic. Looks totally like a stock radio, but it's a CD, AM, FM, GPS navigation unit. It's sweet. And the loosers have no clue what it is, so they pass and look for someone's alpine. Pic is from a BMW.

Nooo... I meant that the US navi for the civic will become available. Honestly, it's got me thinking too. I am not planning on buying the new civic either, at least for a year. I want to read up on it's problems on the forums first.

The factory Navis are sweet. I fell in love with them when we got the 05 Accord with Navi. Man, that thing has every address I ever tried. You CAN'T get lost.

Yes, American-branded cars do suck... A LOT.
Example: a friend of mine bought a GMC Envoy on the last days of June. By her birthday (July 16th) the car WOULD NOT start... IN ANY WAY. Plus, to f*** it all up, the dealer wouldn't take it in with warranty.

I'm assuming it would fit, since most everytihng honda makes is either 1 or 2 dins. You'd need a dash kit or the 05 faceplate if anything probably. I'm just wondering if it would have a spare av input on the back LOL

It should fit. It's just another Alpine made double din unit. BUT you'll need the GPS antenna, and have to hook into the vehicle speed sensor and reverse wire. Also need the software of course.

No clue on the AV input. Probably not, though.

looks to me like the US version will have a satellite linked nav system... i dont think they would give that whole preview on the US site if it wasnt going to be available in US.

i think the interior sucks though. the center console w/ the shifter is gaudy, and the gauge "cluster" is a little too crazy for me. i like the good old fashioned tach/speedo combo at least. should all be in one place, if they wanted to spice it up a bit they should have made it like the s2000, none of that 2-tier crap.

actually the 7th gen navi was also available in Japan. Its hdd based and its double din, the screen folds down to allow you access to the cd player i think. im not sure if acura had any hdd based navi systems, if they do you could try to import a honda oem navi from japan or europe and use the acura software. im not sure of this too, but i heard the sat nav system is different in general in europe so european sat navs might not work here in the US even if you ahve the software.

I have an aftermarket touch screen dvd/navi (Pioneer Avic-n1), Granted it doesnt have the OEM look. But the overall presence is great, expandability galore. Also since having it bypassed to watch DVD's while in park, if you get pulled over close the screen in a couple seconds and hide it like a cheap deck. not to mention when the car is off, it looks like a normal 90 dollar head unit, theives dont look twice.
