There is a comparo test in Speed Magazine which has nothing but good things to say about the car.
(edited because I read the chart wrong)

so you come crawling back to Honda on your knees i see. buuhahahah
your still gonna have to fill up premiem* though with an type-s.
did you had a 7thgencivic in the past or something? (just assuming since hustle said your came crawling back lol)

26mm rear sway? i think that's a bit excessive... the front is 26.5mm but the rear remains 1mm smaller than the DC5 ITR sway at 21mm.
i dont think there are many changes from the '05 model. but i DO know that compared to the 02-04, the 05-06 has new seats (more comfortable), as mentioned before the ITR final drive, 8100rpm redline, 10 additional horses and 1lb-ft of torque (210/143 before new SAE standards, gained through use of new cams/intake and exhaust manifolds and DC5 ITR muffler (I think)). also, there are new 17in wheels and about 80 pounds heavier. Also, new gauge cluster (different needle designs and number fonts). Furthermore, new tailights/headlights, different bumpers, decklid spoiler/side strakes for type-S model, a new color (the metallic orange).
most of this is old news, anyways. heh.

sounds like you still can't sacrifice speed/power for better gas mileage. it doesn't strike me as a smart move to spend $25000+ on a brand new car of which the gas mileage is 23/31 while an 06 si has 26/31. the price difference between a type s and si is almost $5000, of which can be used towards gas money.
then again, i still think that you should stay with a civic ex and with the money that you would save from buying a civic instead of a type s, along with the awesome gas mileage on a civic, you would be set on not worrying about the gas price that you'll have to pay for a few years.

Here is the list of differences for 04 to 05... the 06 should not be much different, since 06 may be the final production year for the RSX.
* Revised suspension tuning for increased handling precision and a smoother ride
o Ride height reduced by 7 mm
o Optimized damper and spring settings
o Firmer stabilizer bars (front and rear for Type-S)
o Bushings at suspension installation points were optimized
o Inversely wound front coil springs
* Refined steering system for enhanced feel and quicker response
o Quicker steering ratio
o Stiffer steering column
o Pump flow increased by seven percent
o Kickback reduction valve
* Optimized braking system for enhanced stopping power and feel
o Pedal stroke decreased
o Master cylinder diameter increased
o Brake pedal to rigidity increased
* Larger diameter 17-inch alloy wheels and 215/45R17 all-season high-performance tires
* Body rigidity increased 15 percent in front and 21 percent in the rear through the application of reinforcements at key areas
* NVH reduced
o Engine damper added to front subframe to reduce engine rocking and vibration transmitted from the engine to the cabin
o Insulation material added at key points on doors and roof to reduce road noise
o Side-mirror gaps sealed and weather strip added
* More aggressive exterior styling
o New front and rear bumper designs
o Redesigned headlight and taillight assemblies
o Restyled signature 5-sided Acura grille
o Redesigned side sill garnish
o Freshened interior design
o Deeply bolstered front seats with thicker cushions
o New chrome and titanium-look accents
o Meter faces changed from metallic to white
* Additional engine intake and exhaust modifications boost horsepower to 210 at 7800 rpm, redline at 8300 rpm
o High performance Type R camshafts to improve engine breathing
o Type R Air intake duct for increased air flow
o Larger diameter exhaust pipes to increase exhaust flow
o High flow catalytic converter optimized to reduce exhaust backpressure
* 6-speed transmission optimized with Type R final gear ratio for quicker acceleration and carbon synchronizers replacing brass on 5th and 6th gears for a smoother shift feel
* Larger diameter front strut tower bar
* Bushings replaced by bearings on strut mount
* Deck lid spoiler
The engine in the 05-06 Type-S is coded K20Z1 as opposed to the 02-04 Type-S which is a K20A2.
I test drove the 05 Type-S before I settled for the 05 Premium. I have also driven my cousin's 02 Type-S when it was new. The new 05 and 06 is a great ride, and it feels a lot smoother. However, there have been some issues with the 05 tranny not going into 3rd properly.

I doubt the EPA willlet Honda put the JDM ITR final drive into the US models. The gas consumption on the highway will take a dive if they do.
WTF is wrong with honda and them not adding an LSD option for this car. Theyb are really slacking.
LOL in the perfect world they would figure out they are on a sinking ship and would start to produce turbo RWD coupes that cost under 25K... but no. They could at least put a limited slip on their flag ship sport compact.

if the gear ratios were shorter it would make the car get worse gas milage most likely. but it would still be better than alot of vehicles on the road so I'm really sure why they would care....
