You do NOT drive the same car as Papadakis!

Okay, I've been over this soooo many times, and it appears that people still think that Stephan Papadakis' car is a legitimate 2k1 civic. So I'm just gonna post a thread now do get everything straightened out once in for all. All those who know what I'm talkin about back me up, and all those who don't just sit down, keep your mouths shut and listen .

As I have wandering around the site, I have seen some of the most inane, ignorant comments on this board concerning AEM's new drag civic. So lets just go through a little Q and A session, shall we?

Q: If I had enough money, I could make my car just like Stephan's, right?
A: NO!

Q: But what if I was Bill Gates and had a billion dollars to work on my car??
A: NO NO NO NO NO!!! You, no matter how much money you have, can never transform your car into the drag AEM civic. His car is built totally custom from the ground up out of tube framing, our car is a unibody steel construction. His car's frame is based on nothing about the civic. The only thing civic about his car is the formed carbon fiber shell that covers the frame, THAT IS ALL!!!

Q: So, what you're saying is that he could've made a shell of any other car, like a peugeot or a hyundai, and put it on instead and it would be that car?
A: In essence yes, he could've made the the shell out of a ferrari if he wanted to as long as he got permission to do so, so don't feel too special about the car.

Q: Papadakis dropped an H23A1 engine in to his car, so that means I can, right?
A: AHHHHH! NO! First of all, the engine bay is totally different from ours, totally custom! Plus the engine is aligned longitudinally, and if you think you can fit a longitudinally placed H block in our bay, you've got some major research to do.

I've seen some really weird reasoning going on to try and justify that Stephan does in fact drive a 2k1 civic. "It's just a heavily modded 2k1 but its still a civic", no, it never started out as a civic, its just a tube frame with a carbon fiber shell RESEMBLING a 2k1 civic. "If you check the title, it will say '2001 Honda Civic'", WHAT!!?? I don't even think this one deserves a comment. "Our cars are fast, look at Stephan Papadakis, he runs 8's" AHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! Will the madness ever end??? I dunno, I give up, I hope I finally shed light on this issue and hope you guys realize that his car is an alcohol driven tube frame carbon fiber monstrosity that will NEVER be your car! Okay, I'm done venting, let the onslaught of ignorance pour in, I'm ready for ya!

i disagree with the money part, if you had enough money papadakis put in, i know you could easily pay the same mechanics to do exactly what they did. It aint that hard, moneys money, and everyone wants it. I'm sure you could get those "people" to do a replica.

Technically no, you cannot make a tube frame body out of a steel unibody, its impossible. So any sum of money will not make this happen, you'd have to start the car from scratch, so building one is feasible, modding your own car to transform it into the AEM drag civic is not.

Nblarson is right. even if you had enough money to buy steve's car from him, you would be able to drive it on the road. it's not set up for that at all. so it wouldn't be anything like you 2k1 civic.

301civic5: Yes, I'm sure you could, but thats not my point. A lot of people are claiming that this car is the same as Papadakis, which I have explained is clearly not. You can BUILD anything, but you cannot MOD your car into Papadakis', no matter what.

I totally agree with NBLarson. Papadakis' Civic-lookalike is a machine designed from the ground up to do just one thing: blast at full speed down a straight track, so it's totally not a street car at all

btw, the previous "Civic" he used to drive still uses the original steel roof and tail lights, but that was all

oh, NBLarson, I think Papadakis new "2k1 Civic" uses the OEM side skirts and rear valance for the carbon body, and I think the taillights are stock too--I think those were all that are "real" Civic

Im with you NBlarson. And one more thing I think the tail light it's not even real I mean its like a sticker or painted on carbon fiber shell even the headlight To complete the 2k1 Looks

he posted it because maybe some of us are sick and tired of hearing the excuse "Oh I can do it because Papadakis did it! The 2k1 Can do it because he has a 2k1!"

Stop being ignorant and look at the cold hard facts.
