somebody told me it goes by pressure in the tank, and temperature outside could cause it to come on with either 4 gallons left, or like 1/4 gallon left. but i think they're wrong. mine usually comes on with about 2 gallons left, so i don't go anywhere before going to the pump.

eventhough you still have 50 miles to go when the gas light is on, i wouldn't recommend it. you wouldn't have that much gas there to last 20 miles. although you can still run another 30 with the fumes, but it would really hurt your car.

I have an EX and I've allowed my tank to get almost empty, and I have yet to see that warning light. maybe I'm just paranoid from owning a Ford last time, always fill it up before it's all the way down to the E

The last time I filled it up the light was on, I knew there was still enought to get to the gas station so I wasn't worried. What sucked was that both my credit card and my debit card were'n working so I had to let them copy down every thing on my license and pay them within 24 hrs or they would call cops on me. I was so embarassed I felt like such an a$$. I did a huge burnout when I left.

Im pretty sure you've got 2 gallons left when the light comes on, so you're good for at least 50 miles, just don't wanna push it, end up runnin out of gas on a major street and have to run back home and use lawnmower gas to drive to the nearest gas station (what, who me? umm....maybe ) dont worry, it was with my pos sundance, it was dying anyway
