Im strongly considering buying one of those things straight out the pipe. The SI will own all IMO. BTW: Sure theres room for a turbo, theres always room for a turbo, its probably going to have to be mounted weird (like the EVO's turbo is near the bottom right of the engine bay). But damn ... im sitting on a good 4k right now, its either downpayment+tradein for 06 SI or dumping that into the D17.
I cant wait till November.
I cant wait till November.
anybody know the price of it? maybe?
we should make a bet how much the car's going to be in another thread ^^
and make a vote to see if it's in between so-and-so range ($18k - $21k, etc.)

Own all?
Are you going to be doing the install yourself? I doubt you can take out the engine from above, looks like you have to take out the engine from below. The tighter the space, the more expensive the turbocharger usually. I doubt 4k is going to be enough dude.

I guess we'll all have to wait and find out. Depending on price, it's either an SI or RSX-S for me then.

Thers is no way it will be more than a rsx or else people would just buy an acura
Well I like it a lot, better than what old rumors made it out to be. My criticism is minor. The back with the spoiler kinda makes it look like a Cobalt (notice the ROUND gas cap?). The pillar/hood area is interesting, not sure how I feel about it, maybe it's the way of the future :P ...the double-decked gauges are a bad idea, looks like the top one obstructs your view, but I guess anyone could get used to that.
Whats the deal with the tape? I hope that's just cuz it's new, anyone can tell what it is from all the uncovered stuff. But, whats under the tape near the rear wheels?

My run in with the "test Mule"
what do you want to know?
I can go on and on with detail...
Like I said ask
Hell I can even go as far to tell you it has equal length axle and (LSD) so that there isn’t a presence of torque steer. It also does not have a double wishbone suspension, but instead uses Maxton struts with a unique power steering system designed by Honda.
The car was tested against the scion TC and Lancer OZ rally edition and out handles them on the track. I asked the test mule driver if they went against the cobalt SS or srt-4 and he said no, during testing it wasn’t compared against those two listed above.
The engine itself is very close in characteristics to a k20a2 but produces only 197hp however, it does this with fewer emissions than the k Series engines currently out. The main difference is in the intake manifold. The engine itself comes with an oil cooler as well I would like to note.
to set certain rumors to rest the four door does not use LEDS. In reality it uses tube halogen bulbs to make it appear it has LEDs.. The new cars in the regular civic line up produce even lower emissions
Inside the car the steering wheel is not leather. There is however volume controls on steering wheel and the optional nav unit flips down allowing you to play your mp3 cds. The diameter of the cars wheel is just slightly larger than the RSX. I thought the seats were better than the current SI and RSX. The stitching on them resembled an R32 to me and they hold you in place well.
The new SI also has the longest front swooping window of any car in the Honda lineup including the Honda NSX. This allows for a great view.. the dash when you drive it feels like its almost at the very front of the car.
The electronic speed display lights up in green. The clutch itself shifts like butter feels like an s2k's. They did a really good job. Engine note isn’t bad either however its not as aggressive as lets say an srt-4 or a cobalt SS.
The car will be sold for 1.4 percent above the original cost. The dealer will be selling the first makes of them for 21 grand it seems. So talk them down guys.
The SI unlike the regular civics is delayed upon release. You guys will not see it until December. On another note the front lights are not the same as the concept version. They have been shrunken down on the side fenders. The car does not appear as aggressive as the concept. This wasn’t noted in the pictures you guys have taken.
I like to note some personal things..
Yes the mule verified as I will call him! Not giving out his name. Honda is making a v10 NSX
Honda will also be working further on the s2000, they have something planned for the next s2000 coming up. I asked what and he only told me it will perform better.
Let your rumors began lol
