what do you think?
my friend has a 2001 taurus ses auto(200hp V-6). he wants 2 race me tonight, and i dont know if i can take him in a 2k1 ex manual, stock. ???

well............ bone stock i pulled a 0-60 in 8.3 with a ex 5 spd on the GTECH. everything was callibrated right, so it has to be somewhat acurate. might stand a slight chance.......then agian i did have the best launch ever, so you may lose

thanks for your input guys. im gonna race him anyways- just 2 see. i think that his 200 ponies aint worth that much in a big, heavy family sedan. 16.5 sec versus 16.3 in his. (according to Motor Trend) . i drove that car numerous times, and it is a behemoth, versus a nice lil civic. ill post the results asap.

ok, heres the story. we raced on 394(for those in the IL/IN area) from a light. its a nice stretch of highway in the middle of nowhere, with a conveniently placed traffic light. i had him off the line till we hit about 45, then he pulled in front by about 3/4 of a car length, he stayed in that distance till around 90. i changed to 5th, and we were going pretty much even from there. he topped out at around 109 and i put my hazards on at 118. so i guess a '01 will beat a stock 2k1 ex off the line, but not in a longer run.
